Step 1) Themed Event Plan

Item Idea Inspiration or Recommended

Decorations Twinkle lights draped over center of parking lot. Consider getting a stage
or using a high trailer as a stage. Decorate according to a theme
Cross Décor Pick a theme and use the décor. (Examples; Disney? Back to school?
Western? Holiday? Super Hero?)
Weekly Craft Sidewalk chalk art (make it a competition), spray chalk, liquid chalk
Music MUST have music! Make it fit your theme.
Balloons Balloons Everywhere, put glow sticks in at night for a glow theme
Mascot Have a mascot to keep things lively and energetic based on theme.
Entertainment Karaoke according to theme. Movie projected off building.
Signature Delight Incorporate what makes you special into the event. What set’s you
apart? Use it. The brand, the person, the inside joke, etc.

Step 2) Above and Beyond Expectations

Entry Display Have each car decorate according to a theme just like you would for
trunk-or-treat. (pick a theme!) Drape balloons in swags, bunch on light
poles, have inflated mylars according to theme at entrance.
Machinery Dancing inflatable man, bubble machine, balloon inflator, project movie
Photo opportunity Set up a photo booth according to theme, use polaroid’s for immediate
gift.
Kids Costumes Have kids dress according to theme make a parade! (holding a rope 6ft
apart like a train) (Give themed masks to kids who participate)
Staff Costumes Dress the theme
Game w/ Pieces Standard tailgate games, water fight, Social distancing games. Have each
vehicle bring a game to share and have families travel from game to game
with a buzzer that prompts them to move from game to game.
Prizes for winning Based on theme. Outdoor appropriate. Tailgate
Raffle Prize Prize Pack. Movie night kit, Car Rental for road trip, cooler, pop up tent,
collapsible wagon, folding chairs
Cross Promotion Local appropriate business for entertainment, machines, stage, games
Ambiance overhead lighting, outdoor cooking/firepit smells
