The Owner of machinery has a liability to inform and when necessary to train according to the content of this Bulletin all the
personnel (like operators, maintenance personnel) whom this Bulletin concerns.

VDO CAN-cockpit GEN2 panel meters manufacturing has been terminated. A small
batch of GEN2 -series meters are in the stock for spare part use.

GEN 3 VDO panel meters have been released and used in Sandvik UG drill from
Q1/2010. These new meters are not interchangeable with earlier GEN1 and GEN2
series.

Service bulletin 13/08 was released on 2008 to inform about GEN1 meters
manufacturing termination.

For machines with Mercedes Benz engine kits includes master gauge (100), fuel
gauge (110), brake pressure gauges 1 and 2 (120,130) and the plug cable set (111,
121, 131) for gauges. For Deutz engine kits include master gauge (100), fuel gauge
(110) and the plug cable set (111) for gauges.

How to proceed:

1. Always when ordering a separate meter or the complete set of meters, the ID-
code and software version from existing master gauge (ø 80mm) must be
mentioned. This will ensure the correct meters when ordering new ones.

2. When replacing the separate meter for the machine where the existing meters are
GEN1 series, the whole panel meter set must be replaced with a correct GEN3 kit
from the list above. Order suitable kit through SMC Logistics LTD.

3. When replacing the separate meter for the machine where the existing meters are
GEN 2 series, the whole panel meter set must be replaced with a correct GEN3 kit
from the list above. Order suitable kit through SMC Logistics LTD.

When ordering, it is recommended to ask if separate GEN2 meters are
available as there is a small batch of GEN2 meters for spare part use.

4. When replacing the separate meter from the GEN3 set, then it is only needed to
replace that specified meter. ID’s for separate panel meters can be found from the
appendix
5.

If separate panel meter is ordered with original spare part ID from

the spare part manual, complete set of GEN3 will be delivered as
a kit.

GEN1, GEN2 and GEN3 panel meters must not be mixed with
each other. It may cause meters to fail.

More info of separate GEN1-GEN3 panel meters and kits can be found from the
appendix 1.
