This school year has been a challenging year not only for us teachers, the parents but most

especially for the learners. This becomes a game-changer because we were pulled out from our comfort
zone which is the face-to-face classroom interaction, to a new learning modality which is the printed
modular learning.

Though we are provided with Self-Learning Modules and other materials in delivering the
lesson, we also need gadgets and internet connection to aid the learning of the students. However, it is
an added burden to the parents of those students from the far-flung areas because they need to go to
school weekly to return the modules. It is indeed an added expense not just in their budget, but also
their time.

The preparation for this school year has been difficult for me, from familiarizing the Most
Essential Learning Competencies to making the Weekly Home Learning Plan and Individual Learning
Monitoring Plan and looking into the academic needs of the students

There are also additional tasks that are very challenging in our part. For example, the virtual
participation of the students in the webinars and other online activities makes me sad because we
cannot have 100% participation from them due to the unavailability of gadgets and internet
connections. Despite this, we are still encouraging them to perform in other activities like poster-making
contest and the likes. We teachers also need to attend webinars activities for us to be well equipped in
this time of pandemic and to be able to perform our duties and responsibilities properly.

It’s a good thing that we can deliver our lesson in this Learning Delivery Modalities that we are
using but it is challenging on my part as a MAPEH teacher because I cannot guarantee 100%
participation from my class in the performance tasks especially those that require gadgets and an
internet connection.

Activities such as dance and musical performances required in the modules are unfortunately
not accomplished due to the unavailability of resources especially those who are members of the IP
community.

As a teacher, I made sure to make localized and indigenized activities and I am happy that they
were able to perform well, though it is added task, at least I’ve done my part in helping them achieve
the learning competencies. I’m very thankful for those whose who helped my students and those who
helped me in monitoring and keeping them updated.

Without all of you, we cannot make these LDMs happen effectively.
