Introduction
This assessment task is the two of two tasks you are required to complete as part of this unit.
Students are reminded:
 To achieve a Satisfactory (S) result you will need to attempt all questions.
 Unanswered questions will cause the assessment to be Not Yet Satisfactory (NYS).
 A NYS assessment will need to be re-submitted before the end of the term.
 You are required to attend the Assessment Intervention Program (AIP) in Week 11 for any NYS
resulted assessment or assessments
 Any assessment not attempted will be recorded as a withdrawn.
 By not achieving Satisfactory (S) result in all your assessments in the term you are at risk of not
completing your course.
 Assessments are graded using the following guidelines:

Observation

As part of any unit of competency you study, you will be required to gain and demonstrate practical
skills that underpin the performance of the job tasks you will complete when you enter the beauty
industry after your graduation. This task is designed to provide you with the opportunity to showcase
the skills you have gained as you have studied the unit BSBMGT608 Manage innovation and
continuous improvement and your ability to use them in a real-life situation. This method of
assessment has been selected because it is a simple and effective way of providing evidence of the
skills you have gained and your ability to use those skills in a work situation.

You are required to:

 review an organisation’s systems and processes and identify potential improvements and/or
innovations that will assist the organisation achieve their goals, and

 develop a plan for the implementation of those improvements.

You will demonstrate the skills and knowledge to:


 analyse and evaluate systems and performance in key areas of the organisation and identify
opportunities for improvement, seeking advice from experts as appropriate
 promote the value of creativity, innovation and sustainability and recognise successes
 support the testing and trialling of new ideas and undertake risk management and cost-
benefit analysis for options

Assessment Task
This assessment task consists of three major parts.
Part A (12 marks/ )
For this part of the assessment task, you will identify an organisation and review its programs,
systems and processes for the purpose of identifying potential areas of improvement.
To complete this assessment task, you will need to select an organisation on which this assessment is
to be based. You can select from either of the following organisations:
 Australasia International School, or
 Australasia International School Beauty Salon
It is important that you select the organisation carefully as the organisation you select here cannot be
changed.
For Part A, you will need to:
1. Select the organisation on which you will base this assessment task.
2. Download the Continuous Improvement and Innovation Plan template.
3. Investigate the selected organisation, this will involve:
a. Identifying key stakeholders
b. Interviewing key stakeholders to understand the organisation’s goals, programs, systems
and processes.
c. Identify ‘pain points’ or areas within the business where improvements could be made.
4. Use the Continuous Improvement and Innovation Plan template to guide your interviews with
stakeholders and the information you need to collect.
5. Complete Part A of the Continuous Improvement and Innovation Plan template (located in
Appendix A).
Part B (8 marks/ )
For this part of the assessment task you will facilitate a brainstorming session for the purpose of
identifying potential improvements or innovations relevant to your selected organisation. Once the
brainstorming session is completed, you will need to complete Appendix B of the Continuous
Improvement and Innovation Plan.
For Part A, you will need to:
1. Organise a brainstorming session with between 3- 6 other students.
2. Conduct the brainstorming session, ensuring you:
a. Brief the group on the importance of continuous improvement and/or innovation as a
means of maintaining competitive advantage and business sustainability.
b. Establish and promote positive relationships with all group members.
c. Promote interaction and discussion between members of the group.
d. Encourage new ideas.
e. Respond appropriately to less useful ideas so as not to inhibit the discussion.

This Change Management Plan is related to an improvement of our services. It is an attempt to look
for our weak spots and see where we can go better.

 This Change Management Plan looks for improving the organizational sales and reach our
financial goals and it’s also looking to develop a better relationship with our customers. We
expect that the changes can make us grow as a company and possibly supply all of our
pointed weaknesses.

Monitoring and evaluation process

The project manager will be responsible for monitoring if the changes are going well, the outcome of
the changes will be measured by:
- Feedback from the surveys
- Financial results
- Analysis of performance

Post-implementation plan

implemented how you will ensure the change is adopted and integrated into the culture. Consider
rewards and reinforcement strategies, ongoing communication, stakeholder involvement and

First, we need to check if the staff adapted to the changes by applying forms and tests. Second, we
will check the financial results of the organisation to see if the goals have been achieved. And then we
will check if the website is having good rate of access and give rewards to the team. And ensure the
commitment of the manager and stakeholders.
