Task summary
This assessment task requires you to develop policy and procedures for performance management for
Boutique Build Australia. While the organisation currently has a performance management policy, it is
outdated and needs revising. The Managing Director has asked you to create a completely new
performance management policy and procedure. He would like performance reviews to be conducted twice
a year.
Following this you are also required to conduct a 30-minute training session for Boutique Build Australia
managers on the new performance management policy and procedure.

Assessment criteria
For your performance to be deemed satisfactory in this assessment task, you must satisfactorily address all
of the assessment criteria. If part of this task is not satisfactorily completed, you will be asked to complete

You will be provided feedback on your performance by your assessor. The feedback will indicate if you have
satisfactorily addressed the requirements of each part of this task.
If any parts of the task are not satisfactorily completed, the assessor will explain why, and provide you
written feedback along with guidance on what you must undertake to demonstrate satisfactory performance.

Dear managers,
As you might have noticed, our current performance management process has not been updated for a long
time and is considered outdated. Therefore, I have created an updated version of the process and I hope
this will be able to assist you all better. Attached below is the new Performance Management Policy and a
PowerPoint presentation on the key provisions of the process, as well as the guide on how to conduct
performance reviews.
Kindly let me know how you think of the updated policy, and all your opinions are very much appreciated.
Also, please do advise me which date and time would be convenient for you to attend a training session for
this new performance management process.
