Narration Change Rules

Narration দুই প্রকার :

1. Direct Narration (প্রত্যক্ষ উক্তি ) : যে উক্তিতে বিার কথা অক্তবকল উদ্ধুে করা থাতক োতক Direct Narration (প্রেযক্ষ
উক্তি ) বতল

2. Indirect Narration (পর োক্ষ উক্তি ) : েখন যকান বিার কথা ক্তনতের ভাষায় বলা হয় েখন োহাতক Indirect Narration
(পতরাক্ষ উক্তি ) বতল ।

D: He said to me , “ I am ill”

Rules:

1. Inverted comma উঠিয়ে that লব্দ ল঱খয়ে ঵য়ে

২। Reported Speech এর কেত া যলি 1st person ঵ে েয়ে reporter এর person অনুযােী ঩লরেলেত ে ঵য়ে

৩। Reported Speech এর কেত া যলি 2nd person ঵ে েয়ে োইয়রর এর person অনুযােী ঩লরেলেত ে ঵য়ে, Object যলি না
থায়ক েয়ে উক্ত কেত ায়ক ঩লরেেত ন কলরো 3rd person করা ঵ে

৪। Reported Speech এর কেত া যলি 3rd person ঵ে েয়ে ককান ঩লরেেত ন ঵য়ে না

৫। Reporting Verb যলি past tense ঵ে েয়ে ঩লরেেত য়নর ঴মে reported Speech এর verb past tense ঵ইয়ে

Direct Speech Indirect Speech Example

D: He said ,”I do it.”

Simple present Simple past I: He said that he did it.

D: He said, “I am writting letters”

৬ । Reporting Verb যলি present tense ঵ে েয়ে reported Speech verb এর ককান঑ ঩লরেেত ন ঵য়ে না ।

৭। Reported Speech যলি অভ্যা঴গে ো লির঴েয কোঝাে , ো঵য়঱ tense এর ককান ঩লরেেত ন ঵ে না ।

৮। reporting verb টি past tense এ থাকয়঱ ঴মে ো স্থানোিক লকছু লয়ব্দর ঩লরেেত ন ঵ে

Narration of interrogative Sentence ( প্রশ্নসূচক বোকয )

এই জােীে Sentence দ্বারা প্রশ্ন লজজ্ঞা঴া করা েুঝাে এেং োয়কযর কলয়঳ প্রশ্নয়োধক লিহ্ন (?) থায়ক

He said to me, “What is your name?”

Rule 1: Reported Speech টি প্রশ্নয়োধক (?) োকয ঵ইয়঱ reporting Verb,

üsay ো Tell থাকয়঱ টা উঠিয়ে ask ো enquire of ো demand ে঴াইয়ে ঵ইয়ে

üsaid ো told থাকয়঱ ো উঠিয়ে asked ো enquired of ো demanded ে঴াইয়ে ঵ইয়ে

Rule 2: interrogative োকযটিয়ক ঩য়রাক্ষ উলক্তয়ে ঩লরেেত ন কলরো Assertive োয়কয ঩লরণে কলরয়ে ঵ইয়ে

Rule 3: Reported Speech এর োকযটি Who, Which, What, When, Whom, Where, Whose, Why, How ইেযালি দ্বারা
আরম্ভ না ঵ইয়঱ indirect Narration কলরোর ঴মে Inverted comma উঠাইো লিো If ো whether ে঴াইয়ে ঵য়ে ।

D: He said to me, “ Are you ill?”

I: He asked me if I was ill ো He asked me whether I was ill

Rule 4. Reported Speech এর োকযটি Who, Which, What, When, Whom, Where, Whose, Why, How ইেযালি দ্বারা
আরম্ভ ঵ইয়঱ indirect Narration কলরোর ঴মে Inverted comma উঠাইো লিো If ো whether ে঴াইয়ে ঵য়ে না েরং উক্ত
লব্দটি একই জােগাে রালখো োকযটিয়ক Assertive এ ঩লরণে কলরয়ে ঵য়ে।

D: He said to me,”who are you and where are you going?”

I: He asked me who I was and where I was going.

Narration for Imperative Sentence

এই জােীে sentence দ্বারা অনুয়রাধ , আয়িল , প্রাথতনা ইেযালি েুঝাে ।

Rule 1: sentence অনু঴ায়র reporting verb উঠায়ে লনম্নল঱লখে লব্দ ল঱খয়ে ঵য়ে

আয়িল েুঝায়঱ – ‘Order/command’ অনুয়রাধ েুঝায়঱ – request

ক্ষমা েুঝাইয়঱ – beg প্রাথতনা েুঝায়঱ – pray

লনয়঳ধ েুঝায়঱ – warn/forbid উ঩য়িল েুঝায়঱ – Advise

অনযথাে – Tell /Ask দ্বারা ঩লরেেত ন করয়ে ঵য়ে

Rule 2: Reported Speech এ verb এর ঩ূয়েত to ে঴াইয়ে ঵য়ে

D: He said to his servant, “Standup”

I: He said to his servant to stand up

Rule 3: োকযটি Negative ঵য়঱ Do উয়ঠ যায়ে এেং Not ঑ verb এর ময়ধয to েল঴য়ে ।

D: My father said to me ,”Do not run in the sun”

I: My father advised me not to run in the sun

Rule 4: Reported Speech টি please দ্বারা আরম্ভ ঵ইয়঱ , please উঠাইয়ে লিয়ে প্রথয়ম ‘Kindly’ ে঴ান যাে, লকন্তু please োি
লিয়ে শুধু verb এর ঩ূয়েত to ে঴াইয়ে লিয়঱ে ি঱য়ে ।

D: Matin said to hamid, “ Please lend me your pen”

I: Matin requested hamid to lend him (Matin) his (hamid) pen.

Rule 5: Direct Narration এ ‘Let’ থাকয়঱ এেং োকযটি দ্বারা প্রস্তাে েুলঝয়঱

ü reporting verb উঠিয়ে লিয়ে ‘proppan>

ü Inverted Comma উঠিয়ে লিয়ে that ে঴ায়ে ঵য়ে

ü Reported Speech এ কেত ার ঩য়র should ে঴ায়ে ঵য়ে

D: We said to him,” let us try”

I: We suggested him that we should try

Rule 6: Direct Speech এ Let থাকা ঴য়ে঑ োকযটির অথত যলি প্রস্তাে না েুঝাে েয়ে কেত ার ঩য়র May ো Might লকম্বা might be
allowed ে঴ায়ে ঵য়ে । েয়ে োয়কযর অথত অনু঴ায়র কয ককান রকম ঩লরেেত ন ঵য়ে ঩ায়র ।

D: He said to me,’Let me come in’

I: He requested me that he might be allowed to come in.

Narration for Optative Sentence

এই জােীে sentence দ্বারা ইচ্ছা , প্রাথতনা ইেযালি েুঝাে

Rule 1: Sentence এর অথত অনু঴ায়র Reporting Verb টি উঠিয়ে লিয়ে wish ো pray েযে঵ার করয়ে ঵য়ে

Rule 2: Inverted Comma (“”) উঠিয়ে লিয়ে that ে঴ায়ে ঵য়ে

Rule 3: Optative োয়কযর কেত ার ঩য়র may ো might ে঴ায়ে ঵য়ে

Rule 4: অনযানয লনেমাে঱ী Assertive Sentence এর নযাে ঵ইয়ে এেং ঴মস্ত োকযটিয়ক Assertive Sentence এ ঩লরণে করয়ে
঵য়ে ।

D: He said,”Long live the king”

I: He prayed/Wished that the king might live long

D: My father said to me,”May God grant you a long life”

I: My father prayed that God might grant me a long life.

Narration for Exclamatory Sentence

এই জােীে sentence দ্বারা ঵঳ত , লে঳াি , ঘৃণা ইেযালি ময়নর ভ্াে প্রকাললে ঵ে ।

Rule 1: Exclamatory Sentence –কক ঩য়রাক্ষ উলক্তয়ে ঩লরেেত য়নর ঴মে োয়কযর ঩ূণত অথত প্রকায়লর জনয reporting Verb
উঠায়ে লিয়ে

ü িুুঃখ঩ূণত অেস্থাে – Cry out in sorrow ো exclaim in ো with grief

ü আনন্দ প্রকায়লর জনয - Exclaim with joy ো delight

ü প্রলেজ্ঞা েুঝায়঱ – swear

ü শুভ্ ইচ্ছাে – Wish

Rule 2: Exclamatory Sentence এ inverted comma উঠিয়ে লিয়ে that ে঴ায়ে ঵ে । আোর অয়নক কক্ষয়ে that েযে঵ায়রর
প্রয়োজন ঵ে না

Rule 3: োকযটিয়ক Assertive Sentence এ ঩লরনে কলরয়ে ঵ইয়ে

D: He said ,”Alas ! I am undone”

I: He cried out in sorrow that he was undone

D: The Captain Said,”Hurrah ! Our team has won”

I: The captain exclaimed with joy that their team had won.

D: He said,” Goodbye, my friends”

I: He bade his friends goodbye or he bade goodbye his friends

D: the boy said,”Thank you, sir”

I: The boy respectfuly thanked his teacher

Rule 4: অয়নক ঴মে Exclamatory Sentence – এর প্রথয়ম what , How ইেযালি লয়ব্দর দ্বারা ককান লকছু র আলধকয প্রকাল করা
঵ে । এই ঴মস্ত কক্ষয়ে ঐ ঴ক঱ লব্দ উঠিয়ে লিয়ে greatly, very , very much লকম্বা great দ্বারা োয়কযর ভ্াে প্রকাল করা ঵ে

D: you told,”what a happy news!”

I: He told that it was a very happy news.

D: He said,”What a fool I am!”

I: He exclaimed with grief that he was a great fool.
