C2C: COLLEGE TO CAREER

WEBINAR SERIES FOR GRADUATING COLLEGE STUDENTS

I. OVERVIEW

The Philippine Government’s Universal Access to Education Policy,

implemented through the Commission on Higher Education, has enabled
millions of Filipino youth to be able to acquire higher education. Despite the
pandemic, around 700,000 students will be graduating in 2021 and will be
joining the workforce.

Our graduates are already considered winners in their own right because
they were able to triumph over all the adversities they faced during their
entire stay in college. Acquiring a college degree, however, is just the
beginning of their journey towards a better life that they envision for
themselves and their families. They will have to join the professional world
and compete with other graduates, both past and present, for the available
job opportunities.

It is necessary to provide a mechanism that will enable college graduates to

carefully carve-out their own niche and to prepare them for a life outside the
classroom, which may be that of a worker, an employee, or an entrepreneur.

The Office of Cong. Ron P. Salo (KABAYAN Partylist), in partnership with

the Chevening Alumni Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. (CAFPI), and the
Commission on Higher Education (CHED), wishes to launch a 14-part
webinar series that aims to empower our graduates to carefully choose which
sector or industry they wish to join in order to increase their chances of
getting hired, and to equip them with the tools and skills in order to thrive in
their chosen careers.

In this endeavor, five (5) universities have signified their intent to co-host all
webinars, namely: Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), Cebu
Normal University, Tarlac State University (TSU), and Eulogio “Amang”
Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST), Cavite State
University (CavSu).

Each of the fourteen (14) topics will be undertaken in partnership with all four
universities as co-hosts. However, every topic will have one university as the
main co-host of the Office of Cong. Ron Salo. Each of them will be assigned
as main co-hosts of at least two (2) topics, with the possibility of hosting more
topics in the future.
