MATH 102: Performance Task

1. Gather data from the DOH website.

Note: Select the data which is applicable in your locality.

2. The focus of the performance task is to perform hypothesis testing using z-test and t-test. With this, I will
select 30 day results (Z-Test) and 15-day results (T-Test), which you can hover in the graphic illustration which
you can see in the website, and perform hypothesis testing using the average number of positive cases in
CDO for the month of August which is equal to 6.9.

General Note: The requirements indicated in the PT document still hold true. This is just an additional guide.
STATISTICS AND PROBABILITY
Performance Task

Objective:
The class will serve as researchers through analysis of data that are usually gathered and interpreted
in a research. The task will also be allowing the class to utilize the use of technology to better
interpret the data gathered. Using the concepts learned in Hypothesis Testing, they should be able to
arrive with conclusions on a particular area assigned to them.

Problem:
According to the recent news, the number of positive cases of COVID 19 in Region X is rapidly
increasing. Your Barangay Officials want to find out if this is true. As researcher, you are tasked to
analyze, solve, and interpret the data of the positive cases in your City/Municipality and submit a
portfolio to be presented to the Barangay Officials. Your work will be evaluated based on its content
and completeness, accuracy, relevance, and impact.

Instruction:
1. You will gather the data of the number of positive cases of your City (CDO) for 30 consecutive
days(z-test) and 15 consecutive days(t-test). The data for 15 days can be from the data of the
30 days.
2. You will use the gathered data to solve analyze and answer the given problem.
3. Each group will submit a portfolio. This task will be a simulation of a research paper but
focusing on the statistical interpretation.

Requirements:
1. Cover Page
2. Table of Contents
3. Introduction of the context of the research
4. Data Table
5. Excel Screenshot of the Summary of Data
