Reporting HitApp Issues:

If there are technical issues with a task, such as queries or data showing up
incorrectly, you may report a technical issue via the tool by clicking on the “bug” icon
and filling out the on-line form completely.

Resolving Log-In Issues:

If you see the “not authorized” error message and you have already provided us with
your Windows Live ID, please complete the following steps:
Log out of any WLID you may be logged into in Internet Explorer:
- Go to: www.live.com
- If you are logged into any account then log out. You can now move onto the next
step.
- If you are not logged in into any account then move onto the next step.
Clear the toolbar/IE application cache
- Click on ‘Start’ then select ‘Run’, hit enter.
- Type in CMD to launch a command prompt.
- Input the following into the prompt, rundll32 dfshim CleanOnlineAppCache (You
can copy and paste this line using your mouse).
- Hit enter to run the command, nothing will pop up, it should move to a new line.
This is normal behavior. Close the window after running the command.

- Once the new window appears, please click on the “Internet Time” tab, click the
“Change Settings…” button
- In the Server drop-down list please select another server, for example:time.nist.gov
- Click the “Update Now”, now click OK.
- Restart your computer
If you need to change or update your Windows Live ID, please email CrowdHelp
with your new login so we can update your profile in the tool.
Reporting Payment Issues:

The ‘My Report’ feature is very useful for keeping track of HitApps, valid judgments
completed, and earning totals. Reports can be viewed by selecting a date range and
then clicking on "generate report".  To calculate anticipated earnings, be sure to run
the report in line with the invoice cycle dates.  If you have a discrepancy in payment
after reconciling “My Report” with the correct invoice period, send a table or
spreadsheet outlining the discrepancy including the name of the HitApp and amount
of completed hits toCrowdHelp@appen.com.

Reminders and Helpful Hints:

Crowdsourcing tasks are available based on the client’s need and Appen has no
control over how often work is loaded.  We do send out notification when new
HitApps become available but also suggest that you periodically check your Market
Place for new work.

Payment in Crowdsourcing is based on the number of Valid Judgments, not an hourly

rate.

Crowdsourcing tasks are designed to be completed independently. We are unable to

respond to any questions regarding project guidelines, annotation questions, or
provide individual judge feedback.

You may be able to do Crowdsourcing work on weekends, however no technical

support will be available, and the tool may be periodically taken offline for
maintenance (if you experience an issue logging in over the weekend, try again at a
later time).
