Message
My sincerest greetings to this successful batch of St. Mary Montessori De Laguna, Inc. graduates and complet-
Phil-IRI 2020
ers. My heartfelt congratulations also to the ever-supportive parents for your unconditional love in providing the needs of
your children. Thanks so much for helping us in DepEd in realizing our dream of making every Filipino child learn amidst
this time of health crisis.
More than a year ago, the world experience this global pandemic COVID-19 which caused a drastic change in
our lives. Everything becomes complicated…from the routine activities we have at home, in school, and even in the work-
place to the festive celebrations of families and friends. We are in total chaos. The government and all other agencies were
caught off balance and completely unaware of how to put things in order, to continuously provide services to the people.
Everything become as difficult as having to survive everyday coping psychological and emotional stress brought about by
the fear of contracting this fatal virus.
Looking back, with all the ups and downs of planning, revising and implementing programs that would be applicable in this
new normal setting, DepEd gradually surpass these ordeals. The department did the necessary adjustment to its curriculum
catering the needs of its learners through the various learning modalities that we have. There may be shortcomings, and
flaws and all but those intervening factors did not hamper the desire of DepEd to continuously offer education services by
all means. And it’s a good thing that SMMDLI have the same objective of continuously providing relevant education in
the new normal to our learners.
After months of enduring hardships complying to the school requirements while you are battling intermittent
internet connectivity and loads of outputs to accomplish, it’s high time that your hard work paid off. It is also the time to
commend your dedicated and diligent teachers for making everything possible for you to reach your dreams of receiving
your Diploma/Certificate of Completion as your entry ticket to another journey in your chosen field of endeavor.
Whatever plans you have after this momentous event, we are hopeful that in one way or another, this health crisis opens
your minds and hearts to a more positive points of views and outlook in life. Try to look at the brighter side of the bigger
picture to achieve your dreams… not on your failures during your struggle to learn. Though you may encounter lots of
painstaking experiences with the present situation we are facing right now, you have to be brave enough to overcome
these trials. And let these challenges become your guiding force to reach your goal for a brighter future ahead.
My dear graduates of Batch 2021, we are on the 2 nd year of giving recognition to the fruits of your labor in the
midst of this global pandemic. The honors and awards you received after these struggles simply spell success. You are all
victors in your own right after having successfully withstand these feat of survival. Those awards and recognition are the
proof that everything is possible if you have perseverance. The ladder of success may be steep sometimes but do not let
your frustrations put you down. Rise up when you fall and be more determined to conquer your struggles. Chase your
dreams and be the brightest star in the sky.
I am pretty sure that our former school principal, Mam Susana S. Sutarez would be happy to see you now in your Gradua-
tion/Recognition Ceremony. Her untimely demise was a big loss to all of us who hold her dearly in our hearts. Just the
same, life must go on and we have to move on. We are grateful enough that in her absence, our dearest Ma’am Nellie
Militante is here with us and more than willing to extend her helping hands. We are confident that with her around
SMMDLI will move forward.
With the prevailing situation that may risk our health and put our lives in danger let us be one in prayer for our
safety and protection together with our dear families.
Once again, my dear graduates…Congratulations and best of luck in your next journey!

Escoda Day
To My Dear Marian Community,
Despite the present pandemic situation, we find ways to make education
available for our students. Initially, we thought it was not possible but the best minds
in the Department of Education and in the academe put their best foot forward to
come up with a Learning Continuity Plan.
Saint Mary’s Montessori de Laguna Incorporated is one of those private
schools who stood up to face the challenge. We are truly grateful because we have
parents who did not leave us in this unfortunate situation. They remained steadfast to
the belief that we can still provide for their children the knowledge, the skills and the
right attitude needed by them to meet the demands of the changing needs of the
society.
Today, we are holding for the second time a virtual moving up and gradua-
tion ceremonies. Like all parents, completers and graduates, I feel a sense of incom-
pleteness. I still imagine the real rites with walking marches with the parents, the mu-
sic, the handshakes, the cheers, the hugs and kisses, and the celebrations after the
event.
But we have to forego all of these rituals and norms because of the pandem-
ic. We need to ensure the safety of everyone. Despite the situation, we are holding
this moving up and graduation ceremonies because it carries a message of hope and
victory. Our learners have completed a challenging task and they deserve this cere-
monial rites to herald this meaningful accomplishment.
We do not know when this pandemic will be over. Our victory is temporary
because the threat of COVID 19 is still there like a monster ready to devour anyone in
moments of complacency.
Let us not allow this threat of COVID 19 impedes our positive disposition. Let
us cooperate with our LGUs in their plans to combat this health menace by following
the health protocols and observing social distancing. Most importantly, as a truly
“maka diyos” nation, let us amplify our sincere prayers that this crisis will soon be
over.
Meanwhile, allow me to express my heartfelt congratulations to all graduates
and completers this school year 2020-21 and to the parents for this significant mile-
stones in the life of their children.
Sa mga batang Marian Mabuhay!
God bless everyone!
