REFLECTION PAPER IN
DOMESTIC RESOURCE AND ECONOMICS

Philippines was once one of the “Richest Country” in Asia, we have many natural

resources, have operating industry and a big population. But due to many reasons like martial

law, political instability, we came to our downfall that until today we are facing. A lot of Filipino

went abroad for a greener pasture, leaving their family behind. In this, we could reflect how poor

our economy is now. Thus, all industry, including Education is not exempted.

As a teacher working in a public school, we can feel the hindrance of education, the lack

of books, and the unpreparedness for the new K-12 program, the lack of facilities to cater the

additional 2 years in High school, the rooms, the supplies and all. It is very hard to teach the so

called 21st century learner, if we, teachers, won’t be productive and resourceful. All, from our

pockets. The Philippine Education is in doom. But, I still believe, that if we will have a better

leader, even though we were lacking financially, still we can reach out to children without

feeling burden that we have to spend our own money for them to learn.

As a future leader of one organization, I believe that working together would help. If all

teachers from one school will join the adversity, the vision, we can give the learners what they

need, and financial problem would not be a great burden. Encouraging teachers to use

alternatives instead of mouthing what is lacking and be more productive in their craft. I know it

is easily said than done, but unless tried, will never know the outcome.

We all know that Philippines have a greater chance in redeeming itself. A united

Filipinos, a stable government official and a more job opportunities will make us stand once

again. Thus, calling not only the attention of who is in the government but calling each one of us

REFLECTION PAPER IN
K-12 PROGRAM

They say that Philippine is left behind in terms of Education System, thus the birth of the

K-12 program. Here, we aim of a Filipino graduate who is empowered, skillfull and

knowledgeable. He or she will be competent enough to face the world and be on top and be a

great leader someday. K-12 Program is in its 4 years as of this writing, we encountered problems

implementing this, thus improvements is a must needed solution for us to be cater the Filipino

Youth.

I am a teacher, hired in a mass hiring for SHS. I was one of the fortunate professional to

cross the field of education. I am very enthusiastic that I would be a pioneer in teaching a Global

Learner, but base on what I’ve experienced, I can say that, we are ready but we are still left

behind. Implementing guidelines on how to be a SHS teachers cannot be followed in a normal

setting. In public schools, we cater 60-70 students per classroom, although we want to give a

better education, but in this situation, how can we provide, if, first, equipment and facilities are

lacking, secondly, learners are too many to manage, and thirdly, the setting is not conducive to

learn. We want to provide a better education, but the lacking hinder it. They would say that we

should improvised, but even if we do it, we still behind.

As a future manager, I understand that the tough part of the implementation of the K-12

program would be on its first to five years. I heard SHS graduates students saying, that they are

the part of the experiment, because during their years a lot were lacking. I cannot blame the

government though, because we all knew that change is constant and changing is for the

betterment. As a manager, what I need to do is to help my bosses to implement the program in a

minimum difficulty I can. Presenting all that I have for my teachers to feel that I am one of them,

I am new to this program and helping each other would be the key in the success of it.

We are now in a K-12 Program, and opposing this is of no good, thus calling all the

attentions of the stakeholders to join hand in hand in implementing this program is the best

option. We do not employ it for ourselves, but for the future of our nation.

REFLECTION PAPER IN
EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT IN PHILIPPINE SETTING

Philippines education system undergo changes from time to time. This changes is for the
development and betterment of the system. Recently we embrace the K-12 Program. Here we
aim children who will be globally competitive and produce a job equipped learners. DepEd,
TESDA, and CHED are the 3 agencies involve in this changes.

As a teacher, we want what is better for our studens. That is why, I think that these 3 agencies
should talk about the recent program on how to implement it, for example, on the first batch of
graduates, some of my students who were in GAS track were not able to enter they desired
course, but then, before the implementation, they've said that GAS were for those who were not
yet sure of what course to take. We the Teachers of those students felt sorry for them. It was a
year after that I think the issue were settled. If they were able to foresee that problem, the
damage would be minimize, that situation did not happened.

As a manager, this TRIFOCALIZATION is a very good program if implemted and promoted

properly, just like the TESDA course, they could have job in a snap after learning. All these 3
agencies need is a proper communication, sit down meeting, for them to be able to unified their
programs. Their programs need to be unified because they go hand in hand and they are the
prerequisite of each other. Hence, they need a right people to be assigned in the programming.

We, Filipinos, are dreaming of a better country by providing an equipped graduates. We believe
that "the hope of our nation is the youth". Thus many programs are develop not only for them,
but for us all as we are all will benefit from this.
