1984 by George Orwell


1. In your own words what is dystopia and how it relates to Orwell’s 1984 book.
It is something fictitious, and it is represented in a totalitarian party, repressing and torturing people
so that they think like them.

2. What is/are the story's idea(s)?

mind control, dictatorships

3. What is the story's message or main point?

I understood power as it corrupts societies, they want to control everything even our minds

4. What decisions must the characters make?

revolution or escape

5. What kind of people are the characters? Consider: beliefs/hopes/dreams/ideals/


values/morals/fears/strengths/weaknesses/vices/virtues/talents

Repressed, sad, and without aspirations, on the other hand the people of the party are cruel

In your own words how the topic of dystopia is evidenced in Burgess’s book, 1984.
The dystopian world is evident, in Alex's wickedness, for him it is a violent world, likewise
it is evident when they try to wash his head

What is the story's message or main point?


I relate that the main idea may be the carma Alex towards very bad things and very bad
things happened to him, as well as the morbidity that the human being feels to control or
do new things

Maybe reflect, a brainwash but naturally

The characters are violent, lustful, arrogant, rebellious, crazy, likewise there are noble or
ambitious characters for their own purpose
