RE: LETTER OF RECONSIDERATION

Dear Dean Boriles:

This is a letter of reconsideration to the Decision of the College of Engineering in declining/rejecting

my application for the program of “Civil Engineering”, which I received early this morning, the
reason stated that I did not make it in the ranking. I am begging the indulgence of your good heart
in reconsidering my application with the following reasons.

First, the first time my application was denied, I was told that I failed to meet the required grade for
admission. I was further told that I should improve my grades to meet the 2.1. GWA requirement of
Civil Engineering science subjects. I followed this instruction and complied with said requirement. I
took Civil Engineering science subjects and through determination and hard work I had higher
grades with the GWA of 2.0.

Second, I had taken Civil Engineering subjects were equivalent to three science subjects of
“Agricultural Mechanical Engineering”, I already spent time and effort in faithfully complying with
the requirements of the College of Civil Engineering.

Third, the reason of not making it in the ranking basis of the denial of my application was a new
one giving a new standard applied to me. During my on-line interview with the Civil Engineering
panel last January 26, 2021, it was clear from the flow of the conversation that I had faithfully
complied with the grade requirement of the College of Civil Engineering, particularly I had a higher
grade than what was required.

It seems that the assailed Decision of denial was attended with grave abuse of discretion amounting
to excess or lack of jurisdiction, because it did not give a sufficient standard and/or basis for the
decision, denying me both of substantive and judicial process.

Presently, I am devastated with the rejection of my application for no valid reason, logically I cannot
comprehend this situation and had caused me to question my own capabilities as a student of this
Honorable University and complying with the requirements imposed upon me.

Sadly, in the recent years, history foretells about how these stringent and harsh requirements and
processes of admission had caused frustration to some students that even lead to either their insanity
and even death.

My family especially my mother who shares and supports my dreams of being a civil engineer one
day is now grieving with me and praying hard that the Decision of denial be reconsidered. I can also
feel my mother burdened and dumbfounded about this situation of uncertainty.

In view of the above-stated, I seek your compassion, and again beg the indulgence of your Good
Heart in reconsidering the reversal of the Decision of denial to the program/college of “Civil
Engineering” and a DECISION be rendered in favor of my ADMISSION in said college.

Thank you very much.
