1.0 INTRODUCTION :

The aim of this procedure, it to ensure that goods required for the execution arrive without damage or loss at the Site,
providing minimum standards for the correct manufacture of suitable packaging solutions when shipping goods by any type
of method of transport.

Packaging is suitable for any means of transport, whether it is by sea freight, airfreight, road or railway.

Each type of goods shall be packed taking into consideration the following information: ‐Protection requirements of the
goods to be packaged ‐Means of transport to be used. ‐ transport route and duration, storage/stop‐over points and
transhipment. ‐ Centre of gravity and weight issues.

The packing, transport and storage‐procedure serve as a mandatory requirement for creating a package for optimum
product protection, taking into account logistical, economic and ecological aspects.

2.0 PURPOSE :

7.0 Selecting the appropriate Packaging

Selecting the appropriate packaging is effected according to customer requirements and product‐own specifications. The
following information will be required in order to find out the most suitable packaging for each type of goods: ‐
Characteristics of the goods: type, size, number of units, mobile or loose parts and whether it requires additional protection
given its sensitivity to rust or other agents. Packing‐, Transport‐ and Storage‐

Packaging for pultruded profiles:

Packing of pultruded profiles is being done according to customer requirements and type of dispatch such as domestic (With
in the nation) or export (Out of the nation).

7.1 Domestic type Packaging:

Domestic type packaging is being done for local customers within the country. This type of packaging consists of following
packing items such as cord strap, packing buckles, corrugated angle, stretch film & wooden blocks. Instructions for packaging
is given below,

· Start packing of material as per packing list given by company employee.

Ø Reading of the drawing no. as in the packing list
Ø Picking up the profile from the storage area
Ø Cleaning the profiles with a wet cloth. In some cases cleaning with chemical would be required. Chemical
would be provided by Co
Ø Bunching together of all profiles as per packing list
Ø Palletizing the bunched profiles on a single/two/three wooden pallets (as per size of the profiles) or bunched
together and kept on wooden blocks

· Ensure that size of pallet should not exceed by 1100 mm in width & 1100 mm in height.
· Post completion of packaging plastic stripping is to be done by manual strapping machine with application of
corrugated angles & packing buckles.

7.2 Export type Packaging:

· Export type packaging is being done for the customers based outside the country. This type of packaging consists of
following packing items such as Mild steel, air bubble sheet, cord strap, packing buckles, corrugated angle, stretch
film , transparent tapes , plywood sheets & self‐ drilling screws. Mild steel is used to fabricate the MS crates or
pallets packaging of the pultruded profiles. MS pallets are designed as per the pre‐defined packing list and fabricated
in advance by outsourced vendor as per the fabrication plan given by packing supervisor. Plywood boxes are also
used for packing of FRP profiles. Instructions for packaging is given below,

1 PURPOSE

This document has been prepared to assure the packing quality and to confirm the minimum
requirements to be used for package construction, goods preparation and packaging.

Packaging requirements take in consideration the minimum requirement for protecting all the
materials in order to ensure that they arrive at the destination in undamaged conditions and safe
delivered conditions. In the meantime, the packages shall also allow an easy and safe handling.
The packaging material causing the least environmental pollution shall be considered for using in
order to minimize packing volume.
Package dimension must be sized to optimize the containers and truck loading, this in order to
reduce the number of containers/truck for the material shipment.
