 Define communication;
 Explain the nature and process of communication; and
 Demonstrate instances on how communication occurs in the given
situations/places.

I. ACTIVITY (15 minutes)


 ME-rry Go Round!
 The class will be divided into two groups. The first group will form the inner
circle while the second group will form the outer circle.
 While the teacher plays the music, the inner circle will move counter clockwise
manner while the outer circle will do the counter clockwise.
 Once the music stops, the student will interview the student in front of him/her.
Then, they will be interviewing the person in front of him/her using the guide
questions given by the teacher.
 Then, after four rounds, the teacher will choose four pairs to introduce their
partners based from the answers given by their partners during the activity.

II. ANALYSIS (15 minutes)

The teacher will ask the following questions:

 What information have you gathered/known from your classmates?


 How did you gather the target information?
 What is communication?
 Can you not NOT communicate?
 Aside from the activity, when do you use communication? Give examples.

III. ABSTRACTION (40 minutes)

Say: To further enhance our understanding on the nature of communication, let us


now focus on the discussion using a PowerPoint presentation.

The power point presentation will highlight the following:

1. Definition of Communication
2. The Nature and Process of Communication

At the end of abstraction, the teacher will ask the following questions:

 Why do we communicate?
 What is the importance of communication?
 If there is no communication, what do you think will happen?

IV. APPLICATION (30 minutes)

Say: We shall now prepare for a workshop by applying what we have learned.

 Group the class into four.


 Demonstrate instances on how communication occurs in the following
situations/places:
 Your teacher is in the middle of his/her discussion, but you feel that you
really have to pee, what will you do? How will you approach your teacher
to tell him/her about it?
 It is your first time in Manila. Unfortunately, you lost your phone that’s why
you cannot contact your friend who is supposed to fetch you. How will you
talk with the strangers to help you about this?
 You were a candidate for the SSG Election. How will you persuade your
co-students to believe and vote for you?
 Your teacher gave you a project. You submitted your work but your
teacher insisted that you really did not submit it. How will you tell your
teacher that you have already submitted it?
