NATIONAL DRUG EDUCATION PROGRAM (NDEP) ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

SY 2021-2022

The prevalence of illegal drug use in the Philippines is lower than the global
average, according to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Pursuant to
Section 43 of Article IV of R.A. No. 9165 otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous
Drugs Act of 2002”, the Department of Education reiterates its support to the National Drug
Education Program (NDEP). According to the DO 12, s. 2009, ” Strengthening the National
Drug Education Program (NDEP) in Schools”, the Department of Education strengthened the
drug education program to all schools to create awareness on the ill effects of abusing drugs
and to develop among pupils desirable values, attitudes and practices to resist drugs.

Pinaghawanan Elementary School, s drug-free school conducted an


information drive last _______________ through placing strategic NDEP corner in the
classroom. Project Raising Education to Awareness Against Drugs ( READ) supports the
goal of NDEP with the following objectives: to promote education on the cause and effects
of illegal drugs; to motivate the students and school personnel to participate against Drugs
Advocacy or campaign; to involve the parents, teachers, school personnel and student
organizations in drug abuse prevention activities; and to collaborate and coordinate closely
with local/ community leaders, LGUs, other GOs and NGOs at the local level.
