Guideline for Captain & Chief Engineer

prior taking over vessels

General Notes:

1. You will stay abt. 1-2 weeks prior hand over as observer on board for
familiarization purpose. You shall not interfere the operation of the
vessel. That means, the actual crew have right to reject more detailed
inspections or function tests. But based on our experience after few
days the existing crew is supporting well.

2. Please keep your own personal protection equipment available when

embarking the vessel including face mask and COVID 19 test not
older than 48 hrs. Presumably same to be present to the Captain of
the vessel.

3. Presumably the Captain will present a “letter of indemnity” (LoI)

which needs to be signed by you

4. Vessels new mobile phone will be sent to the agent/ port of your
embarkation. Please switch on and send test WhatsApp. Please use
the phone taking pictures and for communication till hand over

Bunkers/ Lub Oils/ Chemicals/ Provision/ Bonded Store / Gas bottles

1. Abt. 24 hrs prior hand over to new owners, the quantity of bunker
shall be sounded and checked. Quantity as well as grade of fuel oil to
be documentated. Lub oils delivery in bulk shall be sounded, grade
and quantity to be documentated. Unopened drums and pails by lub
oil and grease to be accounted, quantity and grade to be
documentated. Opened drums and pails shall be not counted, they are
included in the purchase price.

2. All chemicals available on board are included in the purchase price of

the vessel, but please ask for inventory list

3. Provision is included in the purchase price of the vessel, but please

ask for inventory list and check remaining days of provision after
hand over on board. We will inform the provision chartering to
supply the vessel with general provision for abt. 2 weeks counted
from the day of hand over.

4. Bonded store is included in the purchase price of vessel, please ask for
inventory list. But we can expect that the bonded store will be nearly
empty

5. Unitor gas bottles are hire by the present owner and will be taken
over by us. We need an exact inventory of available hired gas bottles
on board provided by Unitor since we need to inform them
accordingly.

1. ISM/ ISPS manual

2. Engine / Deck Log books (please make copies or pictures from at least
the last 3 month

3. 2 x Telaurus Iridium Sim Cards

4. Laptop for communication

5. Mobile Phones

6. PC Programs

1. Please advise number and size of life rafts. Actual life rafts with
maker DSB are owned by present owner and will be taken over by us.

If replace is due, we will change to life rafts with extended service range
(ESR) interval 30 months.

2. Please check the certificate from the FFE equipment, appreciated

when documents can be sent prior hand over for our review knowing
if any service needs to be arranged immediately. Generally saying we
have all FFE on year interval for inspection

3. Please check the certificate from LSA equipment if annual service for
the rescue boat & lifeboat needs to be arranged

4. Please check the date of last annual radio survey. Since we are
keeping the flag Antigua & Barbuda as well as the class DNV, annual
radio survey is not required. But radio company will be arranged to
change the SSAS as well new name by the equipment.

5. Make yourself familiar with cargo ops stowage and position

tweendecks.
