THE SPIRIT OF THE A.C.T. OF HERESY
ACT of HERESY is, at its core, a casual event.

It is NOT a tournament.

The emphasis is on meeting new, likeminded people, rolling


dice, having a laugh and enjoying some great games of toy
soldiers in a great atmosphere.

To make this event all the more memorable for both yourself
and others, players are STRONGLY encouraged to bring
flavourful, thematic, and/or hobby-inspired lists that reflect
the rich background of the Horus heresy, and also your own
diverse imaginations.

This event will be strongly narrative based; missions and


matchups will be varied and different. Each player will be part
of a team and may be placed in games or missions that could
be considered slightly unbalanced due to previous
results/table rules/specific armies/etc. It is hoped that players
can take these situations as intended 
 

Note: There are significant breaks between the first and
second rounds of each day in addition to a break between the
second round and the dinner on Day One. This is to allow a
buffer for games which may be running over time and also
give people an opportunity to visit CanCon if they wish. This
years ACT of Heresy venue is, however, quite close to EPIC
(CanCon venue), so should allow people to get to and from
reasonably quickly.
ARMIES FOR THE EVENT
Each team is to field two players of each of the following
formats, one player defending their own territory and one
player attacking their opponents.

1,250 pts: Zone Mortalis


Zone Mortalis FoC’s only.

2,000 pts: Centurion


Age of Darkness and City Fight FoC’s.

3,000 pts: Frontline


Age of Darkness, Onslaught and Matrix of Ruin.

1,250-1,750 pts: Adeptus Titanicus


Confrontation Matched Play

 First and foremost, this is a fully painted event.


We understand that life happens and things can prevent you
from getting the intended army full painted. Ask for help.
Either borrow some models to fill in the gaps or use an
alternative army or find another solution.

 Special Characters are only permitted by prior consent from


the EO's. To apply, you must submit an alternative persona
for the character complete with background and reason why
they would be in the war zone. Primarchs will not be
permitted.

 Agents of the Australis Ultima Sector are permitted but


Great Crusade Xenos armies are not.
ROUND FORMATS
This year the round formats will be reverting to the team vs
team style to help manage the increased number of players
taking part. It is up to the Teams themselves to determine
whether players will rotate through the various formats or
play a single one for the entire weekend.

CENTURION
Infantry and Walkers should be the focus of your army and
the following units are restricted:

Drop Pods Artillery


Fliers Bikes 0-1 Option
meaning only up to one unit
Lords of War Jet Bikes FROM the list, not one of each.
Superheavies Leviathans HQ Characters are exempt from
this restriction and do not count
Tanks MC’s towards it
Speeders

ADEPTUS TITANICUS
While the event will be using the Matched Play rules for the
AT rounds, teams are encouraged to attempt to design their
own missions for their tables. Some of the random missions in
the core rulebook are somewhat unbalanced and may not be
the most enjoyable options. All optional rules are in play
unless by mutual agreement between the players.
Due to the relatively new nature of the game, it is likely that
updates to this format will be posted closer to the event.

FAQs AND EXPERIMENTAL UNITS


All Experimental Units, Errata’s, FAQs and Optional Rules
published as of 01/07/2019 are in effect.
MISSIONS, CONDITIONS AND OBJECTIVES
ACT V will be giving the teams an opportunity to create their
own tables and associated scenarios. These tables will be
representing their army’s home territory and games played on
them are effectively invasions by other forces.

There will be a number of mini ‘games’ in the lead up to the


event in January, a lot of these will be giving information,
items or other rewards to an individual. It is up to the player in
question as to whether they pass these onto their team
Captains, and then up to the Captains as to whether they pass
these onto their Factions. Like previous events there are a
number of hidden narrative plots and players are encouraged
to leverage these in their games and run with it.

PRIZES AND AWARDS


Like the inaugural ACT of Heresy, there will be a raft of
prizes and awards, none of which will be given out based on
podium finishes. There will be a strong emphasis on player
votes, not just someone’s army but also for their attitude and
enjoyment as an opponent. Bringing a list which is interesting,
fun and themey for both you and your opponent will make the
event more enjoyable for everyone.

EPIC 30K
This year we will be sharing the venue with the Epic 30K
players. While not formally part of our event, please be sure
to extend them all the courtesy and respect of people within
our community. It is more than likely that this will mean that
there will be close to 100 Heresy players at the venue, so
please be conscious of those around you and their armies.
