Assessment

On June 1, 2021, nineteen (19) Runruno community residents have completed their month-long
Community-Based Dressmaking NC II training and assessment conducted by TESDA in partnership
with Runruno Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative (RCMPC) held at Runo Sewing Services
Business Center, Dipilipig, Runruno, Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya. Despite the challenges brought by the
pandemic, they had passed the national assessment conducted by Mr. Jomar Cristobal, trainer and
assessor on Dressmaking NC ll from TESDA Isabela School of Arts and Trades, Ilagan City, Isabela.
Mrs. Venus V. Gamponia-Assistant Professor l and Vocational Institution Supervisor-Designate from
Nueva Vizcaya Polytechnic Institute, Pudi, Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya was also present during the
assessment. Ms. Maila A. Natinol of Nueva Vizcaya Polytechnic Institute was the trainer on this
training.

The Dressmaking NC II enables to draft and cut pattern, lay-out pattern on the material and fabric,
sew material and fabric and apply finishing touches on the ladies casual apparel of the Garment
sector. Casual apparel consists of casual dress, blouse, skirt, trouser, shorts and culottes.

The assessment conducted by TESDA aimed at assessing the level of competency of the women on
the three (3) units of competency comprises of the basic competencies, common competencies and
core competencies such as measuring, pattern making, cutting and sewing.

The access to free technical skills training of the rural folks with the Technical Education and Skills
Development Authority (TESDA) was an initiative of the Community Relations Office-Livelihood
Section of FCF Minerals Corporation. Also, the Runo Sewing Services able to access financial
assistance on the said training from the Runruno Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative (RCMPC).
