BK1: Mentor Moment #VirtuallyMeetYourFLJMentor

Baybayan, April Anne G.

Sections – 49
I attended the Arts & Crafts: Ribbon in WRP Sessions since I am really addicted to Arts
and also it is my first time to see or attend ribbon making sessions. My mentor is Sir. Winston
Alpuerto. As I watch and observe my mentor, I think he is a kind person who works well for his
family especially in the midst of the pandemic we are experiencing. He is a very simple person
who can get close to his students quickly. he is not afraid to talk because he thinks of his students
as friends. most of my fellow students knew Sir. Winston so I was a little scared because they
were the only ones talking but in the middle of the session, he also noticed and asked the other
participants in that session. My mentor's personality seems happy because he teases the
students he knows and he is proud of those who became dean's lister. as they say, in all WRP
sessions arts and crafts are the easiest entrance and do nothing. but in that brief hour time I
learned not only a little from my mentor, not only in ribbon making but also in what he says are
good outlook on life. first and foremost is to give a small gift to your loved ones because money
cannot compensate for the effort you put into small things. simply giving a gift will make the person
you give it to feel bad. secondly, just enjoy life despite the pandemic, still prioritize health because
if it is neglected, everything will be lost and everything you do will be affected by hard work and
perseverance in life. third is the making of the ribbon he points to. at this age I just now know how
to do that so it's also nice to feel that I know something new and accomplished in life even in
college. I will probably be able to use it in the future in case I go into business or whatever. if you
think my course in ribbon making is far away but my plan in the future is to continue the business
I built in this pandemic and the making of ribbons I can use in the packaging of my products so I
chose it more than other sessions because I know I think it will help me. of the simple things in
our house is if there is a need fix is available and learned from my mentor that can solve simple
problems in the house. My mentor's personality seems happy because he teases the students he
knows and he is proud of those who became dean's lister. as they say, in all WRP sessions arts
and crafts are the easiest entrance and do nothing. but in that brief hour time I learned not only a
little from my mentor, not only in ribbon making but also in what he says are good outlook on life.
I am so glad that I have attended to learn things and meet my mentor in this session.
