Education has been a key part to society since the beginning of time. Distance

learning is usually a course in which an instructors post syllabi, reading assignments, and

schedules on websites, and students send in their assignments by email. Everyone has their

own experience with distance learning. The problem is that everyone learns differently, and

has their own ways of processing information , Online and Modular Learning, in some cases,

is the only way that a student with full-time obligations or with distance limitations can take

advantage of an opportunity for betterment.

A conversation with Cholene Kyle S. Juanico regarding to the Online and Modular

Learning

As a student, the main challenges that we have encountered are self-studying, poor internet

connection, lack of sleep and time to answer all the modules due to the great number of

activities, distractions, and lack of focus.

For you, what are the advantages of modular instruction for today?

I think, the most important one is that it allows for better evaluation and more focused

revision and improvement.

What is the purpose of modular learning?

Modular approach to teaching enables the learner to have control over his/her learning and

accepts greater responsibility for learning. It demands greater maturity on the part of the

learner.
Why do students struggle with online learning?

Many families are struggle with financial worries, illness, and homelessness, or they may be

vulnerable in other ways that’s why students may no longer have an internet connection, a

device to use, or a space to learn in.

What are the disadvantages of online schooling?

For me as a student, the inability to focus on screen is considered as disadvantage in online

learning and so with technology issues.

An immersion programme is a form of experiential development

education which sees students from the so-called developed world ‘immersed’

in the culture and day-to-day life of their peers in the developing world. I believe

what we did perhaps the In school work immersion has enhanced our cognitive

skills, immersion students typically develop greater cognitive flexibility,

demonstrating increased attention control, better memory, and superior problem

solving skills as well as an enhanced understanding of their primary language.

In addition, work immersion provides Senior High School learners

with opportunities to become familiar with the workplace, simulate employment,

and to apply their competencies in areas of specialization or applied subjects in

actual work environment to prepare learners for all curriculum exits.
