IV. Learning Activities:

A. Background of the Subject

The computer subject for Grade 10 is designed for the specialization class aligned with the K-
12 curriculum in preparation for the senior high school strands. The main topic in this subject had
given emphasis to the basic computer programming through visual studio application. Learners are
required to have perseverance, commitment, productivity and creativity to achieve the main goals of
this subject. Computer subject also give more emphasis on the performance task as it has the higher
percentage in the grading system where hands – on activities are the highlights in assessing students
learning. The performance task to be given also observes the GRASP method as required by the area.

In our new normal situation, you will be engaging with the distance learning through the aid
of the technology and internet. In this form of learning, you are being avoided to be exposed outside
from the deadly virus (COVID-19) which is still spreading throughout the world in different variants.
You have options to choose if how are you going to learn from our daily lessons through the
modalities of learning given/offered by the school. Distance learning was a very challenging part
since last school year for both teachers, parents and pupils/students due to the pandemic. Being a
Filipino, the spirit of being resilient is still exists in our midst that’s why we still find solution on how
are we going to deliver the lessons in the different form/mode of learning.

 B. Requirements

1. Flash Drive at least 8GB+ memory (empty) 5. Module Compilation Folder (for modular)
2. DWHIZ 9 (REX Bookstore) 6. Android OS/ iOS Phone
3. Working Laptop/Desktop 7. QR Code Reader (downloadable apps)
4. Updated Email Address/Active FB Messenger Acct./ CP number

1. Flash Drive at least 8GB+ memory

 The flash drive’s capacity should have at least 8GB+ memory and must be empty to cater heavy
file capacity from the saving area of learning materials.
 This will be used for copying the installer (Visual Studio) to be given by the computer teacher.
 This subject doesn’t require buying of new flash drive, rather, use the usual flash drive being
used for saving other learning materials from the different subjects.
 Always cut and paste your saved learning materials from the school to your computer so that
when you come back to school to save another learning materials your flash drive is ready.
 Avoid saving movies, unrelated videos, music etc. to your flash drive, it will occupy space from
your flash drive’s capacity that can lead to error in saving learning materials from the school.
 Always scan your flash drive with an anti-virus so that your files will not be corrupted by the
unknown malicious malware or virus.
 All required softcopy project, output, performance task will be saved in your flash drive once it
is announced to be collected for submission.

2. DWHIZ 10 textbook (REX Bookstore)

 Each student is required to have a DWHIZ 10 textbook from Rex Bookstore. This book contains
all the activities that will be doing and it will serve as guide for each student/pupil as a review
material for the upcoming examinations.
3. Working Desktop/Laptop
 As part of computer subject, the learning process of the students requires a working desktop or
laptop. This will be used for the lessons, performance tasks and other hands - on activities to be
given by the computer teacher through the aid of textbook and internet (in terms of
communication, submission of output online and doing the quiz/examination online). Since
some of us has a difficulty in acquiring internet access, you can use your phone for accessing
the other online activity like quizzes and etc. Mobile phone cannot be used as alternative for
personal computer, our hands-on activities can done be only in computer especially managing
a database system.
4. Updated Email Address/Active Messenger Acct./ CP number

 Students must have these for swift communications like sending or receiving files, sending
private messages, getting updates, announcements, subject/personal concerns and others.
 Email address will be used for schoology if ever the students wants to study and learn online.

5. Module Compilation Folder (for modular)

 This will be used for compiling all released computer subject modules for reference in case
there is a problem with the incomplete tasks.
 The compiled modules will also be included for grading in the performance tasks.
 Through this compilation, you will be able to manage and check your modules if it has been
submitted and checked by the teacher or not.
 If your module is incomplete, you will need to comply and accomplish them.
 Always handle your module with care as you love yourself.
 The color of the folder should be RED (carton/board type), long size, with fastener.
 This will be collected every end of the quarter.

 6. Module Compilation Soft Copy Folder (for Online)
 All Activities should be compiled in one folder in your computer. It should be
arranged/organized properly according to module number.

Main Folder: (YourName_Section) example: DharrelCatolico_St.Monica

Content: 4 separate folders per quarter example: 1Q_Catolico, 2Q_Catolico and so on. . .

Note: Each folder per quarter should contain activities within the specified quarter.

7. Android OS/ iOS Phone

 The smart phone (android or iOS) will be used as:
a. Alternative technology in case there is an unavailability of internet.
b. This can also be used for searching, visiting websites, communications, picture, and etc.
c. This will be used for scanning the activities with QR codes.
d. This is not recommended as alternative for computer (desktop/laptop) in terms of hands-
on activities (like creating and managing a database)

8. QR Code Reader (downloadable apps)

 You will be given a QR code reader through Bluetooth/Share It on your phone.
 You can also download QR code reader from the google app store compatible with your
mobile phone.
 Some of our Activities will be using a QR code that enables you to view it.
