Q1- How many parts of speech?

Answer: There are nine parts of speech in English.

Noun, pronoun, verbs, adverbs, adjectives, prepositions, conjunctions,


interjections, articles.

Q2. What is a noun? Give examples.

Answer: Noun is the name of a person, place or anything.

Examples: Persons: Boy, girl, man, Ahmed, children, Noora.

Places: city, country, village, Riyadh, London, America,

Things: car, pen, book, table, mobile, computers, etc.

Q- 3- What are countable and uncountable nouns?

Answer:

A- Countable nouns are the nouns which have their plurals.

Examples: car, books, computers, pen, fans, ball, mobile, etc.

B - Uncountable nouns are the nouns that don’t have plurals, they are always
singular.

For example: sugar, salt, water, milk, money, food, etc.

Answer: Pronouns are the words used to replace nouns.

Examples: I, we, you, they, he, she, it.

Ahmed is sick. He is in the hospital.
