Limits of Your World

1.0 INTRODUCTION

“If you are going to learn a foreign language, the obvious choice is English.”
English is the universal language and it is the window to the world. It is hard to learn
a new language especially English and nowadays people refuse to learn English as
they think that English is a crazy and complicated language. Actually, language is like
a forest, with a lot of trees, branches and leaves. These are the phrases, patterns
and the words of the language. Without language, one cannot communicate with
people and understand them. Therefore, Malaysian people should not be ignorant of
learning English and we should have a strong determination to strengthen our
English language.

Nowadays, people are strongly using their mother tongue in everyday

conversations and thus they seldom speak in English. In school, the students rarely
speak in English because majority of them may not know how to speak proper
English and they will feel less confidence when using English. Therefore, English
teachers are given the responsibilities to inspire them that English is not just a
language and it is fun to learn it. For example, teachers must understand their
students’ needs and expectations in order to design a lesson which is more
interesting so that it helps the students to understand and memorise the vocabulary
better.
The trainee teachers of PPISMP from IPG Campus Ipoh are planning an
interesting English Language Camp at National School of Police General Operation
Force which involves primary school students. Students will be given a new
perspective on learning English and they may know the beauty of a language via this
camp.
