When Using The Cap Pierce Unit: Priming
When Using The Cap Pierce Unit: Priming
Priming Pressing the power key starts the priming operation. In this operation, the
instrument checks the availability of the various liquids used by the instrument.
The priming operation can also be activated by selecting the PRIME key (The
PRIME key can be selected on the OTHER screen). If any of these liquids is not
available the instrument displays the NO DILUENT, NO DETERGENT, or NO
LYSING REAGENT message on the screen. If these liquids are available, the
instrument checks whether all the units in instrument are filled up with their
corresponding liquid. If the liquid supply to the unit is low, the instrument
performs the necessary operation to fill up this unit.
1. Initializes the sampler unit (turns the sampling nozzle to the sample aspirating
position).
3. Checks detergent.
4. Checks diluent.
Measurement When a sample tube is loaded in the tube holder, the measurement automatically
starts when the tube holder is closed.
1. Inserts the sample needle into the cap of the sample tube to release pressure
from the sample tube.
3. Aspirates the blood sample of the sample tube through the sample needle.
5. Dispenses diluent and blood sample for 200 × dilution (for WBC and HGB
measurement) to the WBC sub bath.
6. Aspirates 200 × diluted blood sample from the WBC sub bath.
7. Dispenses diluent and 200 × diluted blood sample for 40,000 × dilution (for
RBC and PLT measurement) to the RBC sub bath.
8. Adds hemolysing reagent to the 200 × diluted blood sample and mixes them
up.
9. Further mixes the 200 × diluent diluted blood sample and hemolysing reagent
by bubbling them with air.
