Perpendicular Lines Oblique Lines

• Perpendicular Lines: When the angle between the intersecting lines = 90°.
• Oblique Lines: When the angle between the intersecting lines ≠ 90°.

2 When two lines intersect, we get two pairs of equal vertically opposite angles.

• When the lines are perpendicular, each vertically opposite angle = 90°.
• When the lines are oblique, one pair of vertically opposite angles is obtuse, and another pair is acute.

Lines and Angles - 3

6 Co-interior angles are supplementary

+ = 180º

7 All obtuse angles formed are of the same measure and all acute angles formed are of another same measure.

8 Each pair of an acute and an obtuse angle forms a linear pair.

+ will form a linear pair

+ = 180º

9 Shortest distance between a pair of parallel lines is the perpendicular distance between them.
