2006
Tests

o Mid-term exam (2 hr): April 21, 2007 (Mon),

4:30 – 6:30 pm

o Final exam (3 hr): June 16, 2007 (Mon),

4:30 – 7:30 pm

- Remember to bring your calculator (be sure there is charge on the battery!).
- Periodic table and table of physical constants will be given at the exam.
- Use of wireless communications devices is strictly forbidden!

Grading 1

Final grade composition:

o 10 % Attendance
( −5% from fourth absence and −10% from fifth one)
o 10 % Homework
o 35 % Mid-term exam
o 45 % Final exam
o 0 % Classroom attitude
(−5% for third warning and −10% for fourth one)
Grading 2

Final Grading

A+ : 0 ~ varies between 15 ~ 25%

A : (16 ~ 26)% ~ 30%
B+ : 31% ~ varies between 50 ~ 60%
B : (51 ~ 61)% ~ 65%
C+ : 66 ~ varies between 85 ~ 95%
C or lower : (86 ~ 96)% ~ 100%

Classroom Behavior

To maintain a fertile learning environment, students may

not hold conversations; consume food or drink
(exception: BOTTLED WATER IS ONLY ALLOWED);
engage in disruptive behaviors.
Wireless communications devices must be turned off or
silenced.

Physical Chemistry?

Physical Chemistry?
Physical chemistry is the application of physics to
macroscopic, microscopic, atomic and particulate
phenomena in chemical systems within the field of
chemistry traditionally using the principles, practices
and concepts of thermodynamics, quantum chemistry,
statistical mechanics and kinetics.
