Tell me about yourself

I began my career in Syria as an IT Engineer, after a few months I was drawn to the
Databases. Really I found myself there in this field, then I moved to Saudi Arabia by a
contract with alqassim university, I worked with a nice team at Information Technology
Deanship as a Data Analyst & Applications Developer, During my time there I’ve gain a
lot of experience in designing and implementing big databases, I’ve always been skilled
at Build database systems of high availability and quality, then I was chosen to be with
my director in his new role at the university as Vice Rector For Planning And
Development, I moved there and started a real chance in Data science world.
(In my new role at the University Center, the efficiency of the office had been a personal
focus, we have designed and implemented a lot of data systems, that producing reports,
Spotting patterns, and setting up infrastructure. I’ve gained a good experience in Create
logistic regression models and Multivariate Regression-based Attribution Models &
Segmentation models, to develop an additive scoring models for Vice Rectorate for
Planning and Development at Qassim University).
My experience at the role has built up my proficiencies in data science technologies, and
it has also allowed me to build strong relationships with important people. You know
Hisham the most rewarding part of my job has been the chance to lead a big project that
is being develop by King Fahd University for Communications & Information
Technology Commission. we have been working in this project for more than 4 years and
the year 2020 was the final, we reach to complete the final stage, and I think that the
deploying team now at the end of the cycle.

my last job was with the research center at king Fahd university of petroleum and
minerals, I was the team leader of 5 people, the research center was tasked with the
project for (CITC) which is as you know the Communications & Information Technology
Commission. The project has the name ICT market study, it has 4 versions from 2017
until 2020, aiming to study the requirement of the Saudi communication market and to
develop and deploy machine learning models and make it available to CITC applications.
we were 4 teams and my team had responsibility for Analyzing the technology
environment & the CITC specifics, we were Analyzing and documenting requirements and
Setting the collaboration framework, Creating a solution prototype, Participating in
technology selection, Controlling solution development, and Supporting project
management that was our job.
The project was highly sensitive & secret mmmmmm that’s why I can’t really give more
details, but I can describe in general about techniques that we have used and what the
challenges was, and how we overcome them

2. How would you describe yourself?

I am an ambitious and driven individual, I thrive in a goal-oriented environment where I
can constantly challenge myself personally and professionally. I am always looking for an
opportunity to do better and grow. These characteristics have helped me achieve success
in my career. For example, I was promoted 2 times in less than two years in my last
position.

3. What makes you unique?

What makes me unique is my ability to meet and exceed deadlines. In my previous role,
my manager con-sis-tently praised me for completing my projects efficiently with a high
level of quality. This allowed me to take on additional responsibilities and eventually led

“I’ve been working with Data for more than seven years. I’ve expanded my experience in

Well, While I highly valued my time at my previous job, there are no longer projects

I’m looking to grow in my career. I’m also looking for a position at a company like yours
that supports skills, which is a personal passion of mine.

6. What motivates you?

Making a true difference in the lives of my clients and their enterprises motivates me to
strive for excellence in everything I do. I look forward to seeing our client's reactions
when we get a positive outcome that will change their business lives forever. That’s why
I became a data consultant and why I’m pursuing a position in Big data and AI
consulting.

7. What are you passionate about?

As a Data consultant, I’m absolutely passionate about creating truly beautiful & efficient
ML & AI models to make people’s experience with technology memorable.
One of the things I loved about my last job was witnessing the results of my team’s
deploying and watching as our months of work yielded positive clients feedback. Having
the opportunity to lead projects from ideation through launch, was one of the reasons I
was so excited to apply for this interview.

8. Why are you leaving your current job?

While I highly valued my time at my previous company, CITC has informed the research
center that they have some financial issues and that’s why there are no longer projects
opportunities in the near future, at least throw this year. Ultimately, I’ve learned a lot in
my last role, but I’m looking for the next step where I can continue to grow and use the
skills I’ve honed to contribute to a company I am looking for, and this opportunity seems
to be the perfect fit.
9. What are your greatest strengths?
I’ve always been a natural leader, I’ve exceeded my KPIs and have been promoted twice
in the past 2 years. When I look back at those successes and know that I wouldn’t have
reached them if I hadn’t built and led teams composed of highly skilled and diverse
individuals. I’m proud of my ability to get cross-functional groups on the same page.
I’ve also regularly honed my management skills through a lot of reviews and candid
sessions with my team, and I know continuing to build my leadership skills is something
I want from my next role.

10. What are your greatest weaknesses?

I’m very goal-oriented and work hard to accomplish tasks, so if I’m assigned a new task
that I can complete quickly, I jump from my current project to the new project. But I’ve
discovered that switching gears too many times throughout the day, prevents me from
doing my best work on projects where longer focus is required. Now, I’m working on
prioritizing new assignments, along with setting time aside each day to work on specific
long-term projects. I’ve already become more efficient and have been able to manage my
time more effectively.

11. What are your goals for the future?

I would like to continue developing my consulting expertise over the next several years.
One of the reasons I’m interested in working for a fast-growing company is, that I’ll have
the ability to wear many hats and collaborate with many different departments. I believe
this experience will serve me well in achieving my ultimate goal, of someday leading a
consulting department, or maybe to be Partner.

12. Where do you see yourself in five years?

In coming years, I’d like to be expert in my field, able to overcome more complicated
problems faced our clients and business challenges alike. I would also like to gain
specialized expertise in bias & de-bias models developing, I'm really looking forward to
be a well-rounded contributor in my team, on large-scale projects that make a difference
both in the companies and the global community.
13. Can you tell me about a difficult work situation and how you
overcame it?
Someday we've got a project from a big financial organization describing that he has a
big issue in his loan system.
the problem was that there is a clear bias by the system to males against the females, in
other words applicant come to the bank to ask them for a loan, and the process start after
the applicant complete the requirements, then the loan officer at the bank starts the
process by register all the client's data, after entering all data, they have in their system
there is machine learning model gives recommendation to the loan officer helps him to
accept this demand or not.
the issue was that the recommendation introduced by the system was clearly biased to
males against women applicants.

so we asked them for a sample of data contains all the predictors/features variables that
impact the decision, and we started investigating ... we made a nice job that time, we
uncovered a lot of things very useful to support recommendation, but we couldn’t reach
to address the main complaint, after that good hardworking from our team we've got a big
deal from the bank to overcome the problem, so we continued what we had started
finally we reached to overcome the problem that we've implemented trial de-biased
model which improved the recommendation approximately 65%, what made our client
so happy and grateful to our work
Our finding was that there was more than 4 predictor variables impact negatively on
recommendation, like the Risk factor which categorized female gender in the high-risk
group even if she is a government employee with a PhD certificate and works as a
professor at a government university.
I will mention here other factor impacted the recommendation negatively, no doubt that
Social structure, values, and gender social-ization have un-doubt-edly disadvantaged
women in the process of preparing for a career in business or to have a loan

Two experiments were carried out, using a Goldberg type procedure, to test the belief
that women are unfairly discriminated against when seeking a loan. Carefully constructed
scenarios of an application for loan finance were mailed to loan officers of major trading
bank branches. The scenarios were identical in all respects except for the sex and
education level of applicants. Loan officers were asked whether or not they would
approve loan finance for the proposed business purchase and to indicate factors that
contributed to their decisions.

Significant differences in response to female and male applicants were observed in both
experiments. In Experiment I (University education) males were likely to obtain a loan
more than females, but “education” was considered a more important factor for the
female applicant than for the male.
The last issue we've find that the gender of the loan officer who give the last decision
in women case here in this country is female

14. What is your salary range expectation?

Hisham to be honest I’m more interested in finding a position that’s a good fit for my
skills and interests, I’m confident that PwC is offering a salary that’s competitive in the
current market, so the average salary, for a candidate, with my level of experience in this

16. What did you like most about your last position?
It was a great position at a start-up agency. Not only was I learning more about bigdata,
but management was also very transparent, It was a very collaborative atmosphere, and
the team and I worked together on almost every project. Everyone's weak point was
countered by another's strong point. I learned more working there than I ever did in my
life, and I'm excited to apply these skills to a new position.

17. What did you like least about your last position?
While I enjoyed my time learning and growing in my last job, there was a lack of
opportunity in the way I wanted to progress in my career. I deeply enjoy being challenged
and getting better at what I do, which I understand and confident is a top priority for
managers at your organization. That’s why I’m excited to continue having conversations
about this opportunity
18. How do you handle stress?
well, I’m able to stay calm when I focus on the bigger picture and break down my
projects into smaller tasks. I always start by asking myself, “What is the ultimate goal
I’m trying to achieve?” From there, I make a list of immediate and long-term action items
with achievable but ambitious deadlines. Even if the big project is due tomorrow, I ask
myself, ‘What’s something I can tackle in the next 30 minutes?’ Before I know it, I’ve
made significant progress and that impossible project doesn’t seem so impossible.

19. What is your greatest accomplishment?

To me addressing the problem is really considered as big accomplishment, so what I'm
worried about is how to overcome the problem for my customer about. One day I had a
consultation to address a Complaint from known company that they have done all what
they can to promote their sales by social media, after reviewing their data and comparing
it with similar competitive company I didn't find any technically problem with his way of
marketing. But after searching in-depth I noticed that other brands were experimenting
with videos and seeing great engagement from their customers, so I suggested if they
could do a low-budget test. They agreed, and produced a video cheaply in-house that
drove double the engagement we normally saw on our social channels. It also drove
conversions with 30% of viewers visiting their website within a week of seeing the video
20. What does customer service mean to you?
In my experience, good customer service involves taking responsibility when something
goes wrong and doing what you can to make it right.

For example, on a recent flight, I had pre-ordered my meal only to discover they didn’t
stock enough of my dish. Instead of simply stating the facts, the flight attendant
apologized sincerely and offered me a free drink or premium snack. To me, this apology
went a long way in smoothing things over. The freebie was a bonus that made me feel
valued as a customer and choose the same airline for my next flight

21. Tell me about your work experience

I have more than10 years of experience in computer science so, As a Data Analyst, I’ve
used visual growth charts to show my clients how each saving plan option can impact
their goals. I've designed and developed a lot of data systems and databases, that
producing reports, Spotting patterns, and setting up infrastructure. I've created logistic
regression models and Multivariate Regression-based Attribution Models &
Segmentation models, to develop an additive scoring models I've the ability to
Collaborating with the IT staff, and the leaders of any company to identify and develop
policies for data governance.

As a Data Architect, I've had the privilege to lead a great team of 5 people, which was
responsible for translating business requirements into technical specifications, including
data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, data warehouses, and Database
Manipulation of the Financial Databases across 7 different Regions. I've Developed
Programming Systems that mimic brain functions using Deep Learning libraries &
Platforms (Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Keras). I've Created NLP models for Sentiment
Analysis & MapReduce modules for predictive analytics to establish the Data Science
division from scratch by recruiting, on-boarding & training all team members.

As a Data consultant I've had the privilege to lead a great team of AI experts & Big Data
consultants who are helping enterprises to leverage the data they are collecting &
discovering new opportunities to develop products and innovate faster with AI and big
data technologies and boost business outcomes with customized solutions. We've Helped
companies move into the AI and machine learning-powered age with tailor-made
solutions as well as with Digital Transformation consulting. Furthermore we've Develop
AI-driven services to enable companies to take full advantage of the gathered data, by
introducing an AI Consulting, which give companies valuable business insights that will
lead to the automatization of processes and an increase in revenue. We've offered reliable
predictions & successful implementations of data science solutions that help companies
better understand their customers, personalize their service, automate and improve
business processes using advanced data-based technologies.

22. How do you define success?

I define success as fulfilling my role in my team and in the company. I work toward
completing my individual duties as effectively as possible, balancing that with
professional growth and contributing to larger organizational goals.

In my previous role, success meant exceeding weekly metrics, implementing processes

that supported the company’s KPIs and meeting professional development goals.

23. How do you work under pressure?

Throughout my career, I’ve discovered how to embrace working under pressure. I find
that routine can make us complacent, so I try to look for challenges that push me to grow.

One time, I was supposed to deliver a project to a client in one month. A colleague who
was working with another client had the same deadline, but he had to take a leave of
absence due to personal reasons. I was forced to take up both projects at the same time.
While I felt an initial sense of panic, I tried to reframe it as an opportunity to see what I
might be capable of. Instead of letting the stress get to me, I came up with a very detailed
time management plan and found new ways to boost my efficiency that enabled me to
deliver both projects on time.

24. What is your dream job?

I enjoy guiding other team members on projects, and making sure everything goes
smoothly, My dream job would be a leadership position where the other team members
are active participants and communication happens daily, I love seeing a project through
to the end and celebrating everyone’s hard work.
25. What can you bring to the company?
My problem-solving abilities allow me to work extremely well under pressure, which I
understand is a common occurrence in this role. In a previous position as the consulting
leader, I had to decide and to predict and overcome many of issues challenging
companies to help them addressing it and especially for saving money. I will bring the
same interest and motivation for making an impact here at PwC Company.”

26. How do you handle conflict at work?

I was working as a project manager on a Bigdata project, and one technician was
constantly late finishing tasks. When I approached him about it, he reacted defensively. I
kept calm and acknowledged that the deadlines were challenging and asked how I could
assist him in improving his performance.

He calmed down and told me that he was involved in another project where he had to do
tasks that were not in his job description. After a meeting with the other project manager,
we came to a resolution that alleviated the technician’s workload. For the remainder of
the project, the technician delivered great work.

I learned that you don’t always know what others are experiencing and by keeping that in
mind, I can better navigate conflict and be a more helpful and supportive colleague.

27. What skills would you bring to the job?

I can make anyone feel comfortable in a new environment, which makes me a good fit
as a bigdata Consultant. In my previous position, a new employee called me and told me
that she didn’t think she was right for the project culture. After talking to her for a few
minutes, we realized that she felt too much pressure to participate in the project events. I
started introducing events that involved fewer competitions and more casual
environments, and she quickly grew more comfortable with her team.

I see myself as a leader of a team of AI & Big Data specialists who are helping
