Architecture of Amusement Center

Introduction

With this project Located around Haile Garment in Addis Ababa the intention is to carry out the
modification of an ongoing building project into partly amusement floors, indoor games, making
the facade attractive with respect to its function and providing enough space for amusement
machines. If Architecture is basically the design of spaces, as well as the art of organizing the
total Interior space, the main Intention for the building will be to achieve a healthier and more
aesthetically pleasing environment for the target people such as children and adults/parents.

With this this Design Modification the quest will be focused on creating an effective use of
space, user well-being and functional design which could contributed to the development of the
contemporary interior scenes and environment.
In the local contest (In Ethiopia), Amusement/Recreational Centers they only function as playing
ground for children. This can be seen from the references of various existing buildings located
around Addis Ababa. During this project the design, mostly could be portraying both learning
and playing grounds environment for the young children as well as a well-intended motivational
and recreational spaces for the Adults which in the future will play the major role as an urban-
pull factor for the building and location. With this design intention parents or adults will be
motivated to bring children more often and at the same time participated to the provided
activities with in the building.

In Addiction the building will correspond to the sustainable architecture in relation to the current
modern environment by designing and providing architectural solutions which must suit all
user’s and all of the client’s needs, - whether the expert architectural designs are made
specifically for the commercial, residential and civic sectors. From the initial design to the final
construction, the project will cover a wide range of services including architecture, interior
design, construction and landscaping for the self-learning as well as entertaining environment.

Today Amusement Center has to become the subject of future generation since the digital world
is conquering the youth activities. Whereas this shows that Amusement centers needs to be
integrated with current contexts which they need to be of storytelling operations, attractions, economics
and human behavior. They need to be as much about the guests as the owners, and the best of them
succeed because they invite people to escape and have fun. As Architects the focus will be creating an
inspiring entertainment space for both guest and owners. Visitors In an unfamiliar environment,
searching for and navigating to a target require that spatial information be acquired, stored,
processed, and retrieved.

Elements which can be consider when designing Amusement Center


1. Creating A Theme - Amusement Center with one Conceptual Theme to bring attraction with
one specific appearance to provide a comfortable space.
2. Storytelling - With the amusement spaces could be convenient to provide a storytelling spaces
use of on general theme which makes more suitable and could create the learning sense of
environment for children.

3. Layout - To provide an appropriate functional zoning which its own look and feel without
compromising the intended theme.

4. Size - Because amusement centers use theming as well as require huge spaces for machines,
equipment and mostly due to the large number of users, they tend to recall for a spacious space.

5. Self-Learning and Entertaining - To provide a well-integrated self-learning as well as an


Entertaining environment for users and owners to experience.
An amusement Center is simply a park that contains a variety of amusements, which may or may
not be unified by one or more themes. But overall, it needs to provide its Functional intention
demands by fulfilling both architectural Space Parameters and Space Quality. And from an
Architectural perspective there are 3 main demands could be beneficial for the project:
1. Feasibility and Welcoming Sense of Space- To meet the objectives and goals of the project, with well
thought planning to take the character of the project and supports the original design intention if
necessary. Also, to consider a welcoming appearance with attractive building elements and
faced.

2. Functional and Program Planning – Meet the appropriate zoning & functional distribution both
horizontally and vertically with disturbing the people interaction and interested practicing activities.
3. Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Storytelling and Thematic Development- Create the
sense of places that are as strikingly memorable as they are engineered to be workable taking
into consideration the outdoor, interior area and other aspects of creativity that makes projects
look differentiate from other so give the place a distinctive character and an experience.
