You are instructed to make a case study of a Company (Manufacturing or Service) (what company
you pick needs to be verified by me), with the case being the company you have chosen. I must clear
the company, failure to do so, or if I find that you have worked with a company that I do not approve
of and you have carried on without my consent, you will not get any marks for the project.

As you know, the Covid-19 pandemic is having a growing impact on the global economy. Bangladeshi
companies are under severe pressure too. The case will give information regarding the company
(concerning the different topics you have been taught in this course for this semester) relating to
covid- 19, like how they are managing their operations & surviving this pandemic situation. The
topics will be fixed, and you need to collect all the necessary information for the company regarding
that particular aspect. Each section will carry individual marks, so make sure you collect all the
relevant information regarding the sub-topic. The following table gives you guidelines regarding how
you can cover all the parts of the project.

model.

1. Supply Chain Management
Who are the top suppliers? Which location is
best suited for the suppliers your company is
working with? How do they deal with the
bullwhip effect? A proper diagram of the supply
chain (including the extended supplier

network). How do they maintain a good

relationship with their suppliers?

In this pandemic, how they are maintaining the

supply chain? What kind sort of difficulties they
are facing & how they are trying to solve them

2. Forecasting What is the technique that they use to forecast

the demand of their company? Is it effective,
do the forecast accuracy calculation to justify
the opinion?

In this pandemic situation, how they are

managing the forecasting process? Identify the
difficulties they are facing. Justify if you have
any suggestions for a new forecasting
technique to implement.

3. Inventory management What types of inventories do they have, where

do they store it, is it near the factory or away
from it? What inventory management
technique do they use? Is it relevant to the
methods that we have learnt in the class? If so,
explain? If not, is it possible to implement the
techniques that they are implementing already

What are the extra precautions they are taking

for managing inventories in this crisis moment?
Any new strategies? How they are different
from their regular ones.

4. Operational Performance analysis- What is their strategy, what is their core

productivity and competitiveness strategy, what other methods are
implementing, what are their operational
strategies, or do you suggest for them to
succeed in the market? Whether they are the
order winners and order qualifiers?
