2. Beginning of Presentation:
Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah Hiwabarokatuh.
Good morning, everyone. My name is Ersatria Gerald Hilmy Prakasa from Drilling class. This
morning, I would like to explain about my final assignment entitled BOP Systems Analysis at
Well ZWP-21 in PT. Pertamina EP Asset 5 Field Tanjung. I choose BOP Systems for my final
assignment because BOP Systems are the most important things to prevent blowout in the well
while drilling. I will explain to all of you 3 important things about BOP Systems. First the
function of BOP Systems, then the maintenance of BOP Systems, and the way to choose BOP
Systems to hold the well pressure.

3. Body of Presentation:
First, I will describe BOP Systems Functions. BOP Systems have 3 main functions, the first one
is to close well bore during blowout, and then to hangoff drill pipe or cut off drill pipe in the
emergency situation, and to work on circulation.
 Second, we come the next topic, that is the maintenance of BOP Systems. In the maintenance of
BOP Systems, we must do 3 important things. the first one is doing wellbore test before using
BOP. It’s useful to check whether BOP Systems are ready to use. Then always clean up every
component in BOP Systems after using it because it’s useful to avoid corrosion, and the last
flush the inside part of BOP to make sure there is not any sand inside the BOP.

Finally, I will explain about the way to choose BOP Systems to hold the well pressure. In this
case, the first thing we have to do is to calculate bottom hole pressure using the formula 0,052 x
Mud Weight x True Vertical Depth + Pressure Well Head. With that formula, we can determine
BOP Systems pressure that we are going to use.

In conclusion, I’ve briefly described three major things about BOP Systems: BOP Systems
Function, maintenance of BOP Systems, the way to choose BOP Systems to hold the well
pressure. If you don’t want a blowout happening in the well, BOP Systems is the solution.
