Volunteering to serve the community is not only beneficial to the individuals involved but it is
necessary in creating better societies for all; through volunteer work, many people’s lives are changed
be it through words or material assistance. Listed below are some of the acts of volunteerism my group
mates experienced:

 Volunteered in school's clean-up drive program where my group was assigned in the slums of
our city and were given a task to collect at least 50 bottles in our assigned areas, the collected
bottles will be used for our school's project (flower pots).
 Three of my members volunteered in the Mangrove planting; It is one of the volunteer programs
held yearly by the school where several classes participate in which the main goal is to plant
mangroves because it serves as a first line of defense in coastal regions and some are organized
by different clubs here in Negros Occidental.
 A charity case event in San Ramon Catholic School, helping the children with poor economic
status, out of school youth and the one who has disabilities. We donated food packages,
clothes, school supplies and conducted a holy mass gathering, feeding program, a story telling
event, and different games.
 Volunteered in the Medical Mission, a healthcare service that provides medical assistance to the
population or usually from different puroks/barangays who has insufficient money to pay for
their check-ups; this program was held to provide the health care that they need because it is
very essential to maintain and monitor the condition of our body.
 Went to Saint Vincent's Home for the Aged that is located in Tangub in which our class
organized and planned the program that involves preparation of food and different activities
such as dancing, singing and the like.
 The STEM students were invited to volunteer for a 2-day Environmental Day Celebration in our
Barangay where we did tree planting, coastal clean-up and mangrove planting.
 Volunteered in teaching children who wasn’t able to go to school somewhere here in Bacolod
City wherein we prepared some learning materials and imparted our knowledge to them.
 Joined Youth for Christ, a community or a group that are passionate about supporting young
people, journeying with young people and talking to them about the gospel which I always
volunteer as one of the facilitator or being in the service team every time when we have
activities like campings, retreats and assemblies.
