Nervous & Endocrine
Brain
- Coordinates the nervous and hormonal
system that regulate what happens
chemically and physically in the body’s
sexual response
- If there is erection, it is bcoz of the message
forwarded from the brain
Insulin – a hormone that regulate sugar level in the
blood
- Repository of images, thoughts and feelings
that humans associate with sex
- Balances human instincts and emotions
with appropriate moral and cultural
behaviour
Summary:
Hypothalamus
- Alerted by blood vessels of the sex
hormones
- Secretes neurohormones
(substance na gna release that
trigger) that trigger the pituitary
gland to increase or decrease its
own hormones
Sex hormones
- Play a role in embryonic sexual
differentiation of gondas and
external reproductive organs
- Naga develop pa ang embryo may
sexual diff. na whether male or
female, usually its in the 4th weeks
Pituitary Gonadotrophic Hormone
Females
1) FSH & LH
- Regulate ovarian and menstrual
cycle
2) Oxytocin
- Stimulates uterine contraction
3) Prolactin
- Enables milk production and
emotional bonding
Males
1) Interstitial cell-stimulating hormone
- Prompts the testes to secrete
testosterone
1) Circulatory system – provides nourishment
and oxygen; heart (pumping organ), blood
vessels (tube), blood (medium of transport)
- W/o this, baby cannot survive in
uterus
2) Respiratory system – involved in the
exchange of oxygen and carbondioxide
- Release of gaseous waste
3) Excretory system – eliminates body wastes
4) Musculoskeletal system – provides
framework, mobility, strength and
protection
5) Gastrointestinal system – (gastro –
stomach) absorbs (occur primarily in small
intestine) and stores nutrients (stored in
accessory organ of gastro. > liver) and
eliminate waste (undigested food > feces).
6) Immune system – provides the body w/
ready supply of immune-competent cells
that protect it from viruses.
7) Skin – protects internal organs and
maintains body temperature
