HAVE YOU READ THE BOOK ....... "THE LORD AT YOUR CALL" Vol. - II
We at VAK are blessed to bring out the second volume in the series
of books on Anecdotes on Vishnu Sahasranama authored by Sri V
S Karunakaran Swamy.
Sri V S Karunakaran Swamy started this mammoth never before project
of explaining the significance of the 1000 names. Since the English
meaning of this hymn is given in this work, many in this country and
those living abroad, will welcome it. Every name is a mantra by itself,
some with two and some ranging up to eight words. The hymn is an
antidote for all ills.
As the author mentioned the benefits which will accrue by reciting
the various name of Vishnu, it has been practically experienced by
Devotees at Chilkur Balaji temple who are the regular readers of VAK
in which these Anecdotes have been serialised. There is immortal
ecstasy that can be experienced by chanting these names individually.
The second Volume has been released on 6th September 2017, as a part of the Saptatipoorthi
celebrations of the Author Sri V S Karunakaran. You can find the devotees chanting these
names endlessly at the Balaji Temple Chilkur. The benefit of chanting individual names for
particular needs to be granted by Almighty is being practiced and is yielding expected results.

EDITORIAL... -
We cannot let Non-believers destroy Hindu religion
In the false name of Reform the Tamil Nadu Government has gone a long way in trying to destroy
the Temples worship system by not following Sanathana Dharma.
‘Deity, cannot in law consent to anything which may amount to an extinction of the deity itself’
- This is an important principle of law that Supreme Court and has been reiterated in Shri Padmanabha
Swamy Temple case.
Does Tamil Nadu Periyar Reform have consent of the Deity?
Tamil Nadu Government has claimed that it’s latest Temple Reform removes thorn in the heart
of Periyar.
Does it create a thorn in the heart of Deity? It definitely does!. No deity will accept reforms in
worship system prescribed by it in Aagamas from an Atheist! It is a basic common sense matter!
Periyar in his lifetime treated Hindu Deities with contempt. In 1953 he broke Lord Ganesha
Idol, He illtreated and spoke ill of Lord Shri Rama and in 1971 Salem event reported by The Hindu,
Lord Shri Rama and Hindu Deities were disrespected in a manner that is unspeakable. A place which
was the very cradle of devotion to Hindu Deities with maximum number of very great seers, ancient
temples is to day the fountainhead of Atheism much of which is due to continuous efforts of Periyar
and his followers to undermine Sanatana Dharma.
1936 Temple Entry Proclamation of Shri Padmanabha through His Dasa has been recorded by
Government of India as an event which showed the way for entire Bharat. But the credit of this great
reform described as a miracle was suppressed and Hindu Deities pictured as villains. If the truth about
the great reform done by the Deity was not deliberately suppressed then Periyar would not have had
so much success in weaning away followers of Hindu Deities and Sanatana Dharma into Atheism.
The fact that followers of only Sanatana Dharma decreased while followers of Christianity and Islam
increased due to Periyar effect demonstrates the selective nature of the targeting of Hindu Deities.
The Dravidian Parties which owe their success in gaining Political Power to followers of Periyar
had while in power facilitated establishment of Periyar Statues in close proximity of ancient temples
with inscription in Tamil translated as
“There is no God, no God, no god, Those who preached God are fools, Those who spread God
Rogues Those who pray God are Barbarians”
The word “God” in the above inscription based on the above facts is clearly referring to Hindu Deities.
It is thus very clear by applying commonsense that Tamil Nadu Temple Reform in the name of
Periyar is a thorn in the heart of Hindu Deities and can never have their consent.
On August 14th when the draconian Tamil Nadu Temple Reform was announced, we can construe
this as a great acknowledgement to the fears mentioned in the historic letter of former Judge of
Kerala High Court and Sr Counsel of Supreme Court Shri Chitambaresh to His Excellency the Hon’ble
President of India.
It is notable here that in the acknowledgement letter from the Honourable President to the above
Justice Chidambaresh’s it is recorded as to how Art 363 is relevant to Hindu Deity Rights dispute
item and it has been referred by His Excellency Hon’ble President to Ministry of Home affairs for
appropriate action regarding the unjust and unconstitutional Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments
Act (Tamil Nadu State used power under this Act to implement Periyar Reform).
We believe there is a divine message here that Hindu Deities have not given their consent to
Tamil Nadu Periyar Reform and they have signaled that it is a violation of principles of Dharma that
Tamil Nadu State is being allowed by Centre to implement Periyar Reforms before resolution of Art
363 Hindu Deity Rights dispute with strong legal opinion in support of Hindu Deities.
Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act is a matter which is in the concurrent list and
the Centre is duty bound by Constitutional Morality inclusive of Raja Dharma to not allow implementation
of Tamil Nadu Periyar Reforms till such a time as the important dispute is resolved.
We request Central Govt headed by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Damodardas Modi ji
on behalf of crores of devotees who are worried about Hindu Deity Rights being infringed by Tamil
Nadu Periyar Reforms to direct the Law Ministry to resolve Art 363 Hindu Deity Rights dispute expeditiously
and stay Tamil Nadu Periyar reforms. !

Let the Selfishness, Discrimination and Disrespect end

Meaning – Oh! Lord Krishna what do you say of those people who want to worship you but don’t
want to follow the tenets of Shastra or Vedic or Agamic prescriptions? Where do you categorise
there devotion? Is it Sattva, Rajas or Tamas?. To this question Lord first explains Arjuna that people
who follow the Shastric prescriptions are the ones whom I consider as devotees because these
follow my prescriptions and are dear to me. People who follow the Shastras and worship celestal
Gods they are known as Saatvikas among the categories of worshippers. People who worship
Yakshas and Rakshasas as prescribed in the Shastras are known as Rajas characteristic people
among worshippers. People who worship Bhootha ganas or Pishachas as per their respective Shastric
prescriptions are known as Tamasa category. These worshippers are still devotees as they follow
Shastras and through the respective deities they worship I grant them their desires. The category
you mentioned does not fall in any of these classifications.

I consider people who worship without following Shastric prescriptions as my opposers. They do
this because of ego, feeling that they are great, wrongful desires and greed. I cannot consider
them as my worshippers or devotees and they are surely Asuras who go against my prescriptions.
They not only trouble their bodies along with its basic elements but also trouble their respective
souls and also force me to take strong punitive action on them by pushing them to hell (Naraka)
or giving them very lower level births in this world. It is therefore clear that people who adhere
to Shastric prescriptions only can be called devotees. Only ardent devotees who follow strict Shastric
prescriptions can become Archakas in temples. In Sanathathana dharma people who follow the
Shastra prescriptions pertaining to their Varna (caste)-Ashrama (State) and they do this with devotion.
Lord pleased by their devotion grants them salvation. These great devotees are also called as Brahmins

From all the above it is clear that people who follow Shastric Prescriptions only can qualify to be
even a devotee and hence Archaka. We strongly condemn the secular Tamil Nadu Government for
strongly interfering in Religious Sampradaayas and forcing demonic actions which do not have Shastric
sanctions. This is against the deity will and his rights. They should not appoint Archakas or Religious

refrain from meddling in these affairs and acting opposite to Sanathana Dharma and hence Lord.
This would not be good for the welfare of the people as it would subject them to Lord’s displeasure

fruitless and would lead to negative effects if this is carried forward. One cannot attempt to reform
