H. COURSE DESCRIPTION
As mandated by Republic Act 1425, this course covers the life and works of the
country's national hero, Jose Rizal. Among the topics covered are Rizal's
biography and his writings, particularly the novels Noli Me Tangere and El
Filibusterismo, some of his essays, and various correspondences.

II. INTENDED OUTCOMES

B. PROGRAM INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES (PILO)

2. Personal and Civic Responsibilities such as appreciation of human condition,
ability to contribute meaningfully to the Philippine society in particular, and

At the end of the course, the learners must be capable of:
1. Discuss Jose Rizal's life within the context of Philippines
2. Analyze Rizal's various works, particularly the novels Noll' me Tangere and El
Filibusterismo
3. Organize Rizal's ideas into various themes
4. Demonstrate a critical reading of primary sources
5. Interpret the values that can be derived from studying Rizal's life and works
6. Display an appreciation for education and love of country

3. Revisiting the Rizal Law: its today’s status

Intended Learning Outcomes:


At the end of this lesson, the learners are expected to:
1. Explain the history of Rizal law and its important provisions;
2. Recognize the importance of studying Rizal course;
3. Identify at least three patriotic objectives of the Rizal law and reflect how these
patriotic objectives were instilled through the school curriculum;
4. Critically asses the effectiveness of the Rizal course in today’s context by constructing
three arguments in favor or against the RA 1425; and
5. Construct an argument justifying the importance of studying Rizal course.
