1. Why is there a need to study the impact of human population growth on the
environment? (5 pts.)
Rapid growth of human population in a certain area can cause rapid resource
depletion which may lead to environmental problems such as the most commonly
known as global warming and deforestation. The impact of population growth in
the environment in simple terms is explained as the more the population grows, it
means that the area or city needs to broaden the space for residential areas. As
we all know, mountains are getting paved, forests are cut down to provide space
for subdivisions.
Consequences of unsustainable living like pollution and global warming is very hard
to solve or treat. We all know this since we know that these issues are currently
visible. But no matter how these issues are treated, the damage done is permanent
or it takes too long to recover. Aside from being harmful, rapid urbanization of
areas can lead to less space for new generations to live in.
I guess that the environmental problem that needs global perspective is global
warming and pollution. There are programs that are practiced by every individual,
organization and government however this is not enough if not everyone is
compliant. As for the solutions, there are establishments that are implementing no
plastics or the use of paper cups, plates, and straws to minimize the effects of
burning and using plastics. There are certain countries that have implemented
environment-friendly plans such as building establishments around trees instead
of cutting them down or using solar panels to power their establishments.
