HISTORY OF NSTP
I. All students = "must" complete 1 NSTP component for
2 semesters of their choice (GRADUATION
REQUIREMENT)
II. All institutions "must" offer at least 1 NSTP
component.
III.State Universities and colleges = "must" offer
ROTC + 1 other NSTP component.
IV. PMA,PMMA,PNPA and other SUC = not covered by the
NSTP Law
V. Private higher educational institutional (HEIs) and
technical-vocational educational institutions with
at least 350 student cadets = "may" offer ROTC and
consequently establish and maintain a Department of
Military Science and Tactics which is still subject
to the existing rules and regulations of the Armed
Forces of the Philippines.

Basic ROTC or E-ROTC/NSP shall take any of the NSTP
components to qualify for graduation.
d. Students who want to qualify for enlistment in the
Reserve Force or attend the advance ROTC program shall
undertake a special program for this purpose.
