Philosophy: Teaching need be seen equivalent to sharing – not the act of providing knowledge; never should
teachers be considered superior to their students, or else knowledge itself cannot be fully transferred.

As a 10th grade student, I already became a benevolent teacher getting no paid in a society-oriented project named
“Give”, aiming to help new beginners in English; a year rolled on, I continued to become a teaching assistant at
The IELTS Workshop English center with the role of an auxiliary teacher. What makes me start my career path so
soon was that I have a genuine love for education. I comprehend the vital role of education in each individual’s
life; and by surrounding myself in an education environment, I conclude that the right attitude towards teaching
should be sharing. Only by this sharing attitude, or using the word “sharing” while teaching, can we eliminate the
notion that learners are inferior people in the class who come to classes to acquire knowledge and that teachers are
those superior to their students in the field they are teaching, coming to classes to parade his or her expertise.
Having applied this notion in my class, I found myself easier to befriend with students, hence creating a more
comfortable environment for them to adapt and apply knowledge. I am therefore convinced that by following this
lodestar, I will be more able to realize my very goals – to become a passionate teacher who can change the
education for the better in a more wholly, people-oriented way.
