I. LEARNING CONTEXT
This is a lesson on computing for the values of Mean, Median, and Mode given a set of data. You will
also describe data using the mean, median, and mode. Problem solving involving Mean, Median, and
Mode of grouped data is also included in this lesson.
The only one formula in solving the mean for group data is called
Assumed mean method or direct method
Mean measures stability. It is the most stable among other measures of central tendency because
every score contributes to the value of the mean.
Median is what divides the scores in the distribution into two equal parts. It is also known as the
middle score or the 50th percentile.
