III. Procedure

A. Engagement

The students will prepare a table like the one below. Then, they will be ask of: What
do you think will happen if I drop the coin into the basin of water?

A slinky will be used to demonstrate the kinds of waves according to the relative motion
of the wave and the particles of the medium. The students will answer the table below. They will
be group and perform the activity on wave based on the given procedure.

A. When the slinky was moved from side to B. When the slinky was pushed back and
side, I observed that… forth, I observed that…
C. When small clay balls were dropped into D. When the end of the yarn was secured at
the basin of water, I observed that… one end and the other and was moved up and
down, I observed that…

C. Explanation
Guide questions:
1. How are waves generated?
2. How are the different kinds of waves different from one another? How are they
similar?
3. What is the difference between wave pulse and wave train?
4. How do mechanical waves differ from electromagnetic waves?
5. What is the difference between rarefaction and compression?
6. What is frequency?

D. Elaboration
The students will answer the enrichment on their book page 231-232
