b) He was an English teacher & a Director of the National
Association for the Teaching of English.
c) He is a writer of poems,plays & stories for all ages(from children
to adult).
d) His poetry collections include A Stegosaurus is for life and other
animal poems & Exploding Heads Comic Strip Poems.
Synopsis
The poem tells of the persona’s feeling as he fells ad and
neglected.He compared himself to disposable household
& food items,unmaintained stationery items & parts of a
car.He is not worthy enough to be will looked after.

Meaning of Verses
→Each verse begins with I am.The I am,indicates that
the object exists;it has life.Although it is neglected or
discarded,it has a voice & the poet gives it the chance to
speak.

The poem talk about every things that have been used &
are no longer needed & are carelessly left to collect
dust.The poem communicates the feeling of being
used,neglected & cast aside after one is deemed useless.

Paraphrase

Literal Meaning
-->The Poem talks about ordinary things that are no
longer useful but are stored & forgotten.The poem is a
reflection of the number of times that we keep things
which are no longer useful.

Figurative Meaning
-->In the course of our lives,we may come across people
who will play significant roles in our lives,but as the days
pass,they eventually fade from our lives & become
memories that are stored somewhere in the deep
recesses of our mind.We should value them & make
connections with them to show that they are not
forgotten but are valued.
