Q1. Do the respondents evaluate AT&T more favorably on contract requirements (Q7E) than they do on coverage (Q7A)?
Formulate the null and alternative hypotheses and conduct an appropriate test.
Ans. Null Hypothesis: There is no difference between the evaluation of AT&T on contract requirements (Q7E) and
coverage(Q7A) (µQ7E=µQ7A)
Alternate Hypothesis: There is significant difference between the evaluation of AT&T on contract requirements (Q7E) and on
coverage(Q7A) (µQ7E ≠µQ7A)
Since the same set of respondents are evaluating both parameters, therefore we can go for T Paired Test.
Interpretation: Since the significance value (P value) is 0.016, which is less than the α value, i.e., 0.05, the null hypothesis is
rejected and we can infer that there is significant difference between the evaluation of AT&T on contract requirements (Q7E)
and coverage(Q7A).
Q2. Do the respondents evaluate AT&T more favorably on high- quality customer service (Q7I) than they do on lower prices
(Q7K)? Formulate the null and alternative hypotheses and conduct an appropriate test.
Ans. Null Hypothesis: There is no difference between the favorability of AT&T on high- quality customer service (Q7I) and on
lower prices (Q7K) (µQ7I=µQ7K)
Alternate Hypothesis: There is significant difference between the favorability of AT&T on high- quality customer service (Q7I)
and on lower prices (Q7K) (µQ7I ≠µQ7K)
Since the same set of respondents are evaluating both parameters, therefore we can go for T Paired Test.

Ans. Null Hypothesis: There is no difference between Cingular’s coverage (Q7A) and Consumer’s ability to receive calls in his
area (Q7B) (µQ7A=µQ7B)
Alternate Hypothesis: There is significant difference between Cingular’s coverage (Q7A) and Consumer’s ability to receive calls
in his area (Q7B) (µQ7a ≠µQ7B)
Since the same set of respondents are evaluating both parameters, therefore we can go for T Paired Test.

accepted and hence infer that there is no significant difference between Cingular’s coverage (Q7A) and Consumer’s ability to
receive calls in his area (Q7B) (µQ7A=µQ7B)
Q4. The objective is to find out whether the customer selection of the service provider depends on the prices or not?
Ans. Null Hypothesis: The selection of the service provider depends on the prices
Alternate Hypothesis: The selection of the service provider does not depend on the prices

Inference: We need to check from f test if the variance of both the groups are same or not. The p value is 0.098
