COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course provides students with an understanding of factors influencing the behaviors of individuals within
an organization. It focuses on how human behavior and organizational environment contribute to
organizational effectiveness. In particular, it discusses foundations of human behavior, group interaction, and
organizational system. The impacts of these three factors on individual employee behaviors (e.g. productivity,
absenteeism, turnover, deviant workplace, organizational citizenship behavior and job satisfaction) will be
examined.
OBJECTIVES
On completion of this unit, students shall be able to understand:
a. the importance of organizational behavior as a discipline
b. the approaches used in the study of organizational behavior
c. individual factors underlying employee behavior, namely, biographical characteristics, ability,
learning, values, attitudes, personality, emotions, perceptions, individual decision making and
motivation
d. group dynamic influences on employee behavior, such as group structure, process, and intergroup
behavior.
e. organizational influences on employee behavior, including the impact of organizational practices,
culture and change on individual and group behavior
f. approaches to developing organizations.
CLASS REQUIREMENTS
1. Students should come to the class on time and fulfill the 75% attendance required by the faculty.
2. I will not tolerate any unethical behaviors about attendance and fingerprint requirement. If any
student(s) perform any such behaviors, The student(s) automatically fail in this class.
3. No plagiarism will be tolerated in this class. Should the student(s) do any form of plagiarism, the
student(s) will be considered failed in this class.
4. Ipad is a must-bring item in every meeting. Students should install bookshelf and rent the book used
as the reference in the class. Should you have any difficulties in installing bookshelf or accessing
UAJY e-resource please go to the library for further assistance.
5. Ipad is used for accessing class-related activities only. No social media or chatting apps are activated
during the class session.
6. Any communication with me as the class instructor should be conducted only by either visiting my
office in office hours or sending me an e-mail. Should you use e-mail for contacting me, please use
the official UAJY email account for students. I will not reply any email outside working days nor any
email sent by unofficial email owned by the student (e.g: Gmail, Yahoo or etc).
7. Student(s) will receive no grade for any late submission.
8. There are no make-up exams except the faculty permits the student(s) to have one.

Big Paper
The big paper is a final group assignment where the groups should conduct an interview and observation to
one business organization and analyze the phenomenon in the organization with the organization behavior
concept. The groups should present their paper in front of the class. The detail of big paper assignment will
be discussed in the class.
GRADING
Based on the various requirements of the above classes, each component is weighted in proportion to
determine final grades:
