NOTICES:
Parent help needed: We need a number of fabric ice-pack covers sewn up for our first aide supplies. Ice packs
are regularly used by the children for small bumps and bruises. We can supply fabric if needed.
Chess Club: We are keen to start a chess group during the lunch hour in Term 2. Is there a parent with chess
experience who would be available to come to school during their lunch hour, once a week to support this initiative?
Brigid on Leave: Brigid is on leave again this week caring for her sick father.
Autumn PTA Raffle: Raffle ticket sales are going really well. If your child needs more tickets issued to them to
sell to family/friends during the School Holidays, please see Raewyn in the office. The ticket butts/money are due
back to school on Monday 9 May.
Student Council: The CTMS Student Council is made up of 4 elected children from each homegroup. Every term
they are responsible for organising an initiative or a special themed event. This term they have organised “Animal
Day” on Wednesday 13th April which will involve a number of animal related games/activities throughout the day.
The SPCA will be visiting and giving an educational presentation as part of the event.
Sausage Sizzle: $50 of the proceeds raised by today’s sausage sizzle will be donated to the SPCA for the
Education Visit. If any child would like to donate a can of pet food to the SPCA, please bring it on Wednesday.
Piano Performance: Jonathan Crehan’s piano group will be holding a piano recital on Thursday 14th April, 6pm-7pm.
Jonathan has contacted those families who will be involved.
Harbourside Market Carpark Fundraiser: We need a lot more parent volunteers for Sunday May 8th and Sunday
15th May for our CTMS fundraiser. We will be collecting money for car parking spaces at the Harbourside Market
(next to Te Papa). Please add your name to the flyer in the office if you can help.
Plastic Bags: We need recycled plastic supermarket bags to line our rubbish bins. Please leave them in the art
room.
Entertainment Books Fundraiser: Thank you to those families who have already bought a book. They are still
available at the office $60.00 each.

Spanish Morning: We will be holding a celebration of the

children’s Spanish learning on Friday 15th April (last day of
term). The Mexican Embassy will be giving a presentation
at Hui and the children will be making Mexican Food.
Parents are welcome to join us any time throughout the
morning. Please come dressed in Mexican costume.
Kelburn After School Care: Kim Mudgway, the manager of the Kelburn Kids afterschool and holiday programme,
has offered to meet CTMS students and caregivers at Kelburn Normal on Monday at 3:30pm. She will show parents
around the facilities and answer questions. Any interested parties should feel free to attend.
We currently have four students planning to enrol in the afterschool care programme. The vehicle they have will
carry four children, so if there are any more enrolments, they will need to look at hiring a bigger car and the
$3/child transport cost may change slightly.
After school programme prices:
Early pick up (on or before 4.30 pm each day) $10.00 plus transport $3.00
Late pick up (between 4.31 and 6.00 pm each day) $16.50 plus transport $3.00
Holiday programme prices: $50/day, but there will be a discount for booking a full week.
If anyone has questions, feel free to contact Sarah (Felix’s Mum) at 021 855 680.
