2. Description discipline (maximum 150 words)
Hygiene is the main preventive branch of medicine that studies the patterns of the influence of natural
and anthropogenic environmental factors on the human body and public health and develops hygienic
standards, sanitary rules and measures, the implementation of which is aimed at ensuring optimal conditions
for life, preserving and strengthening human health, preventing diseases. Knowledge of the basics of hygiene
by doctors of all professions is the key to the correct approach to the prevention of a significant number of
diseases, will help educate the younger generation in the best traditions of a healthy lifestyle and extend the
average life expectancy of the population.
Epidemiology, as a general medical science, studies the causes, conditions and mechanisms of the
occurrence of morbidity in the population, analyzes the features of its distribution among various groups of
the population of the region, and uses these data to develop methods for the prevention of diseases.

4. Descipline objectives
To train a specialist with hygienic knowledge and skills in the field of prevention of infectious and non-
infectious diseases, preservation and promotion of public health.
To provide the knowledge and skills necessary for the application of hygienic requirements and norms
aimed at preventing diseases, promoting health and promoting a healthy lifestyle, justifying the organization
and implementation of preventive, anti-epidemic and disinfection measures aimed at preventing infectious
diseases among certain groups of the population.

assessment of various environmental factors and their impact on the human body; to form modern
knowledge about the analysis of indicators of common morbidity of the population in connection
with the state of environmental factors.

relationships and formulates inputs in the form of recommendations for improving and maintaining

vaccine prevention; applies an age-appropriate vaccination plan and pre-vaccination screening of
the population.

emotional support to patients of different ages with various conditions and diseases, observing the

 • Mid-term control of students' knowledge is carried out at least twice during one academic period for 8/15
weeks (days) of theoretical training with the decision of the results of midterm controls in the educational
progress journal and electronic journal, taking into account penalty points for missing lectures (missing
lectures in the form of penalties points are subtracted from the assessments of the midterm control). The
penalty point for missing 1 lecture is 2.0 points, deducted from midterm control. A student who does not
appear for midterm control without a valid reason is not allowed to take the discipline exam. The results of
midterm control are provided to the dean's office in the form of a report by the end of the control week.
