When we were youngsters, I'm sure we all went through a chocolate
milk phase. The sweetened milk drink is a morning meal or afternoon
merienda habit for many individuals, even as adults, some of us may still
consume it; except perhaps for the lactose intolerant. Nestlé Chuckie and
Selecta Moo are one of the fun to drink beverages among Filipino kids
today. However, between the two chocolate milk drink, which one offers
the most nutritious ingredients, and which one is not?

Nestlé Chuckie is a high-grade chocolate-flavored milk that has been

sterilized, recombined, and homogenized with CALCI-N to help
strengthen bones. This beverage contains several vitamins and provide
minerals for health; implying that it helps in the health of our bodies
including keeping our bones, muscles, heart, and brain working properly.
Selecta Moo on the other hand, is a creamy chocolate drink that have
similar kind of product, however, it is only rich in protein. Unlike Nestlé
Chuckie, it does not offer a lot of nutrients and vitamins for a drink. Not
to mention the fact that it uses and contain large amounts of unhealthy
ingredients, that might increased the risk of developing some health
conditions, like cardiovascular disease and high blood pressure. In other
words, it would better for kids or maybe adult to consume Nestlé
Chuckie rather than the Selecta Moo if they are looking for a chocolate
milk drink that offers a lot of nutrients and can benefits to their health.

As the nutrition facts of such products may be seen on the preceding

page's image, you can see that Nestlé Chuckie only offers 119 amount of
calories per serving. It also comes with only 4.7g cholesterol, a 4.3 total of
fat, a 16g total of carbohydrates of which 0.9g of dietary fiber and added
sugar that are only 14.7g. However, in Selecta Moo, it has amount of 190
calories, with 5g of total fat, 10mg of cholesterol, and a total of 28 g
carbohydrates that comes with 190 mg of sodium and 21g of sugars;
which most likely would result a heart disease later in life if consumed to
much. Furthermore, Nestlé Chuckie also contains 280mg of calcium that
helps in bone development, a 5g amount of protein, a 200 IU vitamin A,
which is fat-soluble vitamin, 0.11mg of vitamin B1 that helps the cells in
the body convert food into energy, a vitamin D with amount of 60IU
which basically help the bones to absorb calcium, and lastly a 1.5mg of
iron and 0.81 mg of zinc that can benefits in cognitive development.
Meanwhile, if we check the nutrients that we can get from Selecta Moo,
only 7g of proteins are offered which is not bad, but among the 2
chocolate milk drink; we can clearly say that, Nestlé Chuckie is much
more healthier and Selecta Moo only contain a small amount of
nutrients.
Chocolate milk drink, specifically Nestlé Chuckie and Selecta Moo,
provides a rich amount of protein, which can help in the development of
lean muscle growth. Muscular strength is vital since it not only makes you
feel stronger but also maintains your active lifestyle. If I will be given a
chance to choose between the two, I would happily to consume Nestlé
Chuckie. The product is rich in calcium which is the main mineral present in
our bones. It's also high in phosphorus, and it's generally fortified with
vitamin A, B1, and D, of which are essential nutrients for developing and
keeping healthy bones and teeth. When it comes to ingredients, I would say
they uses the substances that is healthy our body including- skimmed milk
powder, which provides bone-building nutrients such as protein, calcium,
vitamin D and vitamin A; palm oil which is a great source of antioxidants;
cocoa powder that is rich in theobromine; uses a natural flavor rather than
artificial; and lastly, a sucralose sweetener that may improve digestion. Now,
other than Selecta Moo offers less nutrients, they also use some unhealthy
ingredients such as- non-fat milk solid, artificial powder, and refine
vegetable oil which are rich in omega 6, with the mixture of coconut oil that
is easy to overdo saturated fat and corn oil that is also high in inflammatory
omega-6 fats that eventually could causes accelerated growth of cancer
cells, blood clotting and increased inflammation in the body. Don't get too
frightened, it also contain a vanillin that has no nutrients, vitamins, minerals,
or other health advantages, and studies suggest that it can cause allergic
responses, digestive problems, and migraine headaches. Furthermore, Nestlé
Chuckie also has a downside. It doesn't taste like chocolate, malt, or any of
the other flavors you'd expect to find in chocolate milk. It's a salty onslaught
with a wheaty/starchy flavor and texture. It leaves an oily residue on the
inside of your mouth. Selecta moo on the other hand, unlike Nestlé Chuckie,
it’s just creamy enough without tasting too fatty. The mouth feel and the
chocolate flavor, apparently isn’t bad at all. In other words, despite of the
benefits or advantages, drinking chocolate milk on a daily basis may also
have a number of disadvantages. Most of the chocolate milk drink including
Nestlé Chuckie and Selecta Moo, are heavy in calories and added sugar,
which might lead to weight gain and raise your risk of developing certain
chronic conditions. Also, chocolate milk consumption in children should be
constantly supervised, due to the fact that obesity, cavities, and other health
problems can result from consuming too much.

Therefore I conclude, between the two product, Nestlé Chuckie is

healthier option than Selecta Moo. From the nutrients that has been
produced, healthy and safe substances that are used, and has the lesser
amount of "nutrients to get less". All I'm saying is, Nestlé Chuckie is nutrient-
dense beverage that may help you stay healthy in a variety of ways. It is high
in calcium, phosphorus, B vitamins, potassium, and vitamin D, among other
minerals. Plus, it is also a high-protein snack, for kids and even for adults.
And before I forgot, the new Nestlé Chuckie shifts to paper straw as they are
to achieve a waste-free future in which none of their packaging, particularly
plastic, ends up in landfills, the oceans, or as litter. Thus, it does not only
benefits the health of every individual, but also in our environment.
