Disaster of the Philippines 2014

Every year, there are thousands of affected people due to a disaster. In the Philippines, the
governments have many agencies to cope with the survivors when it needs to aftermath and guide in
reducing disaster risk and in order to be prepared and help themselves whenever the disaster strikes.

In 2014, most of the issues in the prevalent headlines are more on natural man-made
humanitarian crises and problem. One of these is the Typhoon Hagupit which happens more than a year
after the Typhoon Haiyan cause widespread life and destruction to the Philippine in Tacloban City. The
Typhoon Hagupit came with 115-mph winds with heavy rains which about 4.2 million people felt the
worst storm in the Eastern Visayas. The place are being whelmed when the World Vision held 1 million
survivor in response to Haiyan as well as Hagupit providing food, shelter, clean water, and livelihood.
According to Fatima of Paolo, in Leyte Province who have also been affected in Typhoon Haiyan last
2013, he said that he had the identical gift last year. Besides of losing her business and house for the
second time, he was worried that even his hopes are also lost to recover again.

There is nine or more natural or man-made disaster which also occurred in Philippines on the
year 2014 aside from the Typhoon Hagupit. According to Wikipedia ,the 2014 Bukidnon bus bombing
which occurred on December 9 when a bomb hit a bus just infront of the main entrance of Central
Mindanao University along Syare Highway in Sitio Musuan, Barangay Dologon, Maramag, Bukidnoon.
The blast killed at least 11 people and another 43 were wounded. Another is the Tropical Storm Fung-
wong (2014) also known as the Philippines Tropical Storm Mario which relatively a weak cyclone
occurred in eastern China and Taiwan, the northern Philippines and also it cause less flooding to Metro
Manila, Luzon. Next is the Tropical Storm Hagibis (2014) which bring heavy rainfall to the Philippines in a
week of June 2014. The Typhoon Halong (2014) known as the Typhoon Jose in the Philippines, a strong
tropical cyclone in Western Pacific basin on August 2014 – Wkikpedia. The Tropical Storm Jangmi (2014)
know in the Philippines as the Tropical Storm Seniang, a weak but causes distruction in the Philippines
during late December 2014 causes a serious flooding with 66 deaths and at least millions of damages.
Another is the 2014 Typhoon Kalmaegi known as the Typhoon Luis in the Philippines. According to
Wikipedia, it is the 22nd depression and 15th named storm of the 2014 typhoon season. Kalmaegi was the
first storm to make landfall over the Philippines since Typhoon Rammasun, two months prior. Then the
2014 Tropical Storm LingLing known as the Tropical Depression Agaton in the Philippines, a weak but
deadly cyclone occurred on January 2014. Second to the last is the 2014 Typhoon Rammasun known in
the Philippines as the Typhoon Glenda. According to Wikipedia, Rammasun is one of the only two
category 5 super typhoons on record in the South China Sea. Rammasun had destructive impacts across
the Philippines, South China and Vietnam in July 2014. Lastly, the 2014 Typhoon Vongfong known also as
the Typhoon Ompong in Philippines. According to Wikipedia, Vongfong was the most intense tropical
cyclone worldwide in 2014 and struck Japan as a large tropical system. Vongfong was the nineteenth
named storm and the ninth typhoon of the 2014 Pacific typhoon season.
