1. What is the relevance and importance of History in today’s generation?

“History is not merely an academic subject, but a discipline that shapes

our lives”. The past shapes the present. History teaches individuals today why
their nation enters conflicts, where their views originate from, and how to
comprehend their country's culture.

History is essential because it helps us understand our past, which in turn

helps us comprehend our present. Studying history may help us gain insight into
our ancestors' cultures. The past also reveals patterns that repeat themselves
across generations. We can learn from history not to make the same mistakes as
our forefathers. Knowing the past may help us understand humanity’s trends and
what the future may hold. It is essential to understand the past.

2. What will you tell the next generation if they asked you about what happened during
the 2020 pandemic, and how did it change your life?

In the year 2020, most people had a difficult time adjusting. COVID-19
pandemic changed lives as we all know it—and it may have changed us
individually as well, from our morning routines to our life goals and priorities. Our
schooling has been disrupted, and we've been cut off from our friends and family
as a result of this. Breadwinners encountered a lot of difficulties just to earn
money for their family to survive the crisis. Children didn’t have the chance to
play under the sun with their shirts full of sweats with their friends like before.
Even the way people shop changed. It has altered the way we work, play, learn
and live.

Personally, COVID-19 changed my whole life, from the way I dress, think,
shop, learn, eat, etc., literally everything. When the provincial governor posted a
memo on his facebook profile that the classes were suspended because of the
virus that was slowly killing hundreds of people from around the world, I did not
take it seriously. I was even happy that our classes were suspended because who
wouldn’t, right? But then, months passed, and reality hits me. Lots of people
died, lost their loved ones because of the virus and some of the people died
because of hunger. I started to miss school, my friends that I can barely hang out
with because my parents wouldn’t allow me, our relatives from other cities, and
the unexpected travels with my family. Most of the days I always thought of my
regrets, that if I could turn back time, I wish I should’ve done this instead of doing
that. So, the most important lesson that I have learned from that experience is
that we should cherish every single moment with every single person in our life
because we never know when it will be the last time we see someone.
