E-Commerce Midterm Assignment

1. Instructions to students.

 Your name and student number should be included in the first page of the
assignment document, and all pages should be numbered.
 Start each question (if there are many) on a new page in the document and
provide a heading for each question. Paginate your document so that it is neatly
presented.
 The assignment must be submitted on or before the due date. There are penalties
for late submissions. Your subject coordinator will advise you what these
penalties are and will also advise you if extensions of time are available for this
subject.
 Collusion and copying are not allowed. Each assignment must be done entirely
by you. There are severe penalties for copying and collusion including loss of
marks in the assignment, failing the entire subject or dismissal from the course.
 Outside materials may be used in assignments but all such material must be
quoted and referenced using the APA referencing format. In general, you should
present your ideas and understanding in your own words.
 All written or essay type questions in this assignment are to be answered in
writing using a word processor. Font Times New Roman, 13 font size, bold for
headings only and double line spacing.
 This is a group assignment and the number of students per group should not
exceed 10 students.

Scenario
You are currently working as a consultant in a business. Over the past 5 years, the
business has been doing well even though there have been some critical issues.

Recently, the management of your business has decided to incorporate E-commerce and
integrate the systems within these clients. This is viewed as a strategic approach to gain
competitive advantage and to expand the business. You have been requested to propose a
plan on pitching some (new) strategies and apply the E-commerce approaches for the
firm. There are several factors and issues to consider in your report. These are:
1. The features you would propose to incorporate in the website and how these
features can benefit the business.
2. How the E-commerce can be used to expand the market
3. Challenges the management must consider and may face when running those E-
commerce approaches

Guidelines
1. Students should prepare a report of their analysis and findings. All references
made should be cited accordingly. Students can make assumptions.
2. Plagiarism will not be accepted (<20%)
3. Total words: 5000 words.
