PART 1: DISCUSSION ( 10 MARKS)

A statistical staff was instructed to write a report for the firm's director based on raw data obtained from 9994
consumers of the SKYSNOW (a US firm) - (see attached Excel “supper store”). With the statistical tools
learned, your group require write this report with the following requirements.

a. Calculate total sale, total profit, profit ratio, profit per order, sale per customer and draw suitable graph/charts
by yearly from 2018 to 2021 of all above index. Give a short comment on it. ( 3 marks)

b. Summarize Sale by Product categogy and product name , Profit by Product Categogy and product by
category in 2021. Use the appropriate table/ charts/ graph to give comment on it. (3 marks)

c. Construct the table belows to show the profit by category, region and segment. Give comment on it (2 marks)

Question 1. ( 2 MARKS)

The manager of the SNOWY RESTAURANT recently selected a random sample of 18 customers and kept
track of how long the customers were required to wait from the time they arrived at the restaurant until they
were actually served dinner. This study resulted from several complaints the manager had received from
customers saying that their wait time was unduly long and that it appeared that the objective was to keep people
waiting in the lounge for as long as possible to increase the lounge business. The following data were recorded,
with time measured in minutes (use as the continuous data):

a. Develop a frequency distribution (using six classes, each with a class width of 10, make the lower limit of
the first class 15). Noted: the frequency distribution must be included: frequency, relative requency (%),
cumulative frequency.
b. Construct box and whisher diagram
Question 2. (2 MARKS)

The sample of Twenty two families in BALI VILLAGE were asked how many cars they owned. Their
responses are summarise in the following table:

a. Determine the mean, the median, the mode and interquartile range of sample. (1 mark)
b. Compute variance, standard deviation & coefficient of variation of number of cars owned per family (1 mark)

Question 3. (1 MARK)

A HRM manager wishes to estimate the proportion of employees in his large company who have supplemental
health insurance. What is the sample size he should select if she wants 95 percent confidence and a margin of
error of ± 0.01?

Assume that the score of Statistics is normal distribution.

a. Estimate with 95% confidence the mean of final score of Statistics (1 mark)

b. The students who score greater than 6 (above 6) will have scholarship from Uni. With the 90% confidence
level , Estimating true proportion of student who will have the scholarship. (1 mark)

Question 5. ( 2 MARKS)

If a real estate market is strong there will be a close relationship between the asking price for homes and the
selling price. Suppose that one analyst believes that the mean difference between asking price and selling price
for homes in a particular market area is less than $2,000. To test this using an alpha level equal to 0.05, a
random sample of n = 15 homes that have sold recently was selected. The sample differences between asking
price and selling price are in the following table:

The ages of population of a town are Normally distributed with mean 43 and standard deviation 14. The town has
a population of 5,000 people. How many people would you expect to the aged between 22 and 57.

- Viết tắt: Không lạm dụng việc viết tắt trong đề tài. Chỉ viết tắt những từ, cụm từ hoặc thuật ngữ được sử dụng
nhiều lần trong đề tài. Không viết tắt những cụm từ dài, những mệnh đề; không viết tắt những cụm từ ít xuất
hiện trong đề tài. Nếu BCTTTN có nhiều chữ viết tắt thì phải có bảng danh mục các chữ viết tắt (xếp theo thứ

Lưu ý quan trọng: Bài này các bạn sẽ không cần check turnitin. Giảng viên sẽ tự check và chỉ check PART 1. Nếu dưới
20% được coi là bài tốt. Từ 20% đến 30% trừ 1 điểm. Từ 31%- 40% trừ 2 điểm. Trên 40% trừ 5 điểm.
